Coach Will Wade says RJ Luis will not be joining the team today at SEC Media Days

Question (By Pat Forde): Where do things stand with Marcio Santos, Brice Dessert, Saliou Niang, Skyy Clark and Gilad Levy?
Wade: "Do you follow us at all? Because Santos hasn't been a member of our stuff since July, so I don't know where you got that from. Do you even follow us? Are you just here to ask gotcha questions? Santos hasn't even been in the equation. We haven't announced him in any kind of way. We haven't done any of that. What are we doing? You don't follow us. You're here to ask gotcha questions, but go ahead with what else you have."

Wade: That's who you got?

Wade: "We'll see. We'll see who gets eligible. We feel good about that group getting eligible — the ones who were actually on our roster, the ones who are actually on our team. We feel like those guys will get eligible. How about that?"
Q: Does Brandon Bender have any affiliation with the program?
Wade: "His son plays for us. Yes."

Luis has always been considered a long shot and still is. After the bullshite with the football program, I don’t think we were planning on pushing it with Luis. The internationals are a different story since there has been years of precedent for eligibility.

As he shouldn't. I'm a big Wade fan but that was always a stretch and quite honestly, I'm not even sure why he attempted it when it was clear last year that a player like Luis wouldn't be allowed to play. I do appreciate him trying everything he can to turn this program around in year one, but that one was a head scratcher.
Hopefully in the future, players can look at someone like Luis as an example of what not to do. He should've never went pro. It's a decision that likely cost him millions of dollars.
Also, I wonder if Wade is giving up on this one so easily as to fight more for the 3 or 4 remaining transfers he's still trying to get eligible. I thought he'd push this one a little further given the court ruling that Luis got.

fricking bullshite, but as expected, the NCAA is dragging their feet on these guys but moving on clearing players at other schools. At least Ruzic has been cleared. Niang, Clark, and Dessert will likely all be starters, and vital to this team's success.

Pat Forde has a hard on for trying to dog Wade every chance he gets. He asked about Santos, a player everyone has know for a long time isn't going to be on the team.
