Coach O just always presses the right buttons. He gets it.

SIAP..... I’ll say that when he was first announced as head coach, I wasn’t a huge fan of it nor was I mad about it. I figured I’d let things play out and see what happens. I can honestly say that after this past season’s results along with him pushing every right button with PR, players, fans and media, I’m now a fan of his as well.

He’s done nothing but shed a positive light on LSU and the entire state to anyone who would look or listen. With his extremely busy schedule recruiting, it’d be so easy to stroll past these senior citizens and keep on plowing ahead. I’m sure the buzz he created around the place is one of the best things many of them have experienced in many years. Good stuff.

I read on the recruiting board that someone there is the grandmother of a sought after recruit. The recruit told O that he wished his grandmother could have seen his recruiting visit. O moved everything to her nursing home so that she could.

What’s with the “poemsonly” url thing?

and yes, coach O is someone that I am proud to have as my coach and to represent LSU.

To the point that if someone were to disrespect Coach O in my home I’d ask them to leave.

We have this in my house

It may be tied to something in recruiting, but you bet your arse, O was genuinely hugging every last one of those seniors.

O’s biggest attribute is his heart. The man is exceptional. So so proud LSU is being led by that man.

It was, but he made a second visit later in the day because some residents missed the first visit.

What a great man and great representation of Louisiana and LSU football. I'm so happy to have him on our sidelines.

I also read that one of the people staying there is a huge fan or something and was going to be upset that they missed Coach O. Well being Coach O, he went back up there to see them before heading out.

I got married the day before the Bama game. Saturday morning the MOH gave my wife and me an Ed O candle.

Lit it for every game.

Mckinnley Jackson's grandma lives there. As others said, he told Coach O on his official visit that his grandma means the world to him and that he was sad she couldn't be with him and his family on the visit. So Coach O made time to go visit Jackson's Grandma.

While that is extremely thoughtful, what makes Coach O so special is that he went back later in the day to see the rest of the people living in the retirement home who missed his first visit.

Also, one of the residents missed his visit the first time, so he went back a little later to meet that resident.

During the games he takes a little bit of a backseat because he's not really involved in the playcalling on either side of the ball, nor is he really making any personnel decisions during that time. His coordinators do the heavy lifting.

But THIS is his time. HIS element. And something I think he really enjoys. O just has to get the right coordinators in place...because he is going to go out and get the players.

Where oh where did you get that candle? And can it be ordered?
I'm in Colorado and I'm certain I can't get that here.

The man just won the National Championship and he’s visiting nursing homes in Lucedale, Mississippi. His heart is gold and his engine never stops.
