You don't think actual good coaches don't have communication and standards set that extend into the academic compliance of their players?

There are athletic advisors who handle scheduling for athletes. If this class issue is true, there is no excuse.

There isn’t anything else to it. This is exactly what happened. An academic advisor registered him into classes and one of the classes was the wrong one so he didn’t get the credit for the class he was supposed to be taking because he didn’t take it. This is on LSU being incompetent. Not Emery.

So... Apparently, Emery was registered for the wrong class???? How in the world does this happen? Something just doesn't sound right here!

If the reason he’s out for the year is because he took the wrong class, multiple heads need to roll. That’s absurd to me. There has to be more to the story.

I mean ultimately, the reason that he’s out is that he failed to maintain academic eligibility (assuming reports are correct). The scheduling piece is certainly absurd if true and I agree the folks responsible should be taken to task over it, but he had to put himself in a situation where his eligibility came down to one summer class in the first place.

It’s really interesting to me how the narrative has shifted to Emery being “wronged” by the university rather than him having failed to pass his classes. I wish the kid the best but that is, quite literally, part of his job as a football player.

Also, I don’t think it should come as a surprise to hear that he’s out all year. Once he was out for the first game, that should have been a big red flag. He’s not going to regain academic eligibility in the span of a couple of weeks.

Ed was to busy chasing 25 year olds in Destin this summer, and not worried about whether his players would be eligible or not. What a shite show.
Someone should be monitoring players schedules/grades/attendance. And Emery went a whole summer in an unapproved class and no one noticed? Fvck Ed O and his bullshite excuses and always throwing people under the bus when he screws up. Went from greatest team ever to worst team in the SEC in 11 games. Impressive!

The binder must have been missing the page about “academics and class enrollment”

That’s not how eligibility works. It’s something else and they are using that excuse as the scapegoat.

I’m not sure I ever knew a college student who unknowingly enrolled in, and completed an unrequired course. Bizarre.

When I enrolled, I took the schedule and highlighted each course required as I completed them. When they were all highlighted, the university awarded me with a degree. Pretty basic.

Fail classes and/or admin fricks up scheduling? Come to Georgia, automatically eligible.

Fail some weed tests? Come to Kentucky, automatically eligible, become a starter, get drafted.

LSU admin and compliance suck dick.

Why would Georgia take him. I’m thinking they felt they dodged a bullet after his freshman snorefest…. Err, season.

according to what proof? Again, that’s not how ineligibility works.

How are you so sure? Assuming he was a full time student during the summer semester, what other classes was he enrolled in?
a large majority of athletes are interdisciplinary studies majors. the student athlete advisors are very familiar with which courses they are required to take in order to graduate.

Blatant incompetence. How many people did this slip by? Heads need to roll for this, not because I want to see Emery on the field but because they need to do right by Emery. He got completely screwed over by the people that are supposed to be guiding him
