Except his accountability ends when he goes to the person who’s job it is to set him up in proper classes.
Is he accountable for teaching himself the class in question too?

He’s two years into an interdisciplinary studies degree. Literally any class he takes on campus they can find a way to make it count. He can change minors and it still counts.
This narrative makes zero sense and I bet the people working in the Cox building are pissed they are getting thrown under the bus for O.

Are you certain that compliance screwed up? Let's have some sources. If they told him the wrong class than absolutely but again summer season has been over for weeks and this was just brought up today.

Ed Orgeron confirmed John Emery’s ineligibility, not that he took the wrong class.
We’re finding that is not the case, and anything saying otherwise is an unsubstantiated rumor conjured up in the echo chambers. This appears to be an accumulative hours issue, not wrong class Man facepalming

"We thought John had done enough to be eligible this fall. The NCAA disagreed. I appreciate Compliance going to bat for our player."
99% of this is on Emery for creating the situation in the first place. LSU (meaning O) deserves all the heat they are getting for not being straight with us and not riding his arse harder in the first place to stay eligible.

Not for regular students it isn't ... it's the final semester of 3. TOPS counts it as hours to equal the yearly requirement ... the "new year" starts in the fall. Maybe it's different for athletes??
