LSU isn't hiring anybody without extensive head coaching experience. Maybe he could be the College Rooney Rule token minority interview. That would satiate and satisfy all the Libtard Wokesters at LSU.

Um, Saban went from NFL DC to head coach

He literally hasn't finished half of a season as a coordinator yet. Joe Brady is much more qualified

Stupid post like these make the whole process miserable. Being a DC in NFL doesn’t equate to being a HC in CFB.
Yep, that Cleveland brown d.c, Nick Saban, didn’t equate to college football h.c. (Michigan state)

I refuse to believe anyone actually thinks this would be a good idea. These are probably the same people who thought LSU should have hired Blake Dean a few years ago
If he crushes it then I'd consider giving him a look in the next coaching cycle

Would rather him than Lane. When you need it most defense wins games still!

Saban and Smart were DC's and they haven't done too badly over the past 20 years.

Saban also was at Kent State and Michigan State as a HC before LSU.
Smart was a college coach for 16 years total (8 as DC under Saban) before getting the Georgia job.
Sheppard has ONE year in CFB as a Director of Player Development at LSU.

I'm not rallying for Shepard in the least or at all. Responding to a post where someone said we need an Offensive minded coach. I pointed out that the two most successful coaches of the last 15 years were Defensive coaches in Saban and Smart

He wants nothing to do with the College game.

He can’t be worse than Sloan

The weakness of Detroit is their defense, we just saw what having a coach who didn’t lock down their side of the ball looked like.
Plus he has no experience at being the ring leader of the circus
