Think he's more of a depth piece. Need to replace a lot of bodies
My speculation is that he is more of a depth piece as well. A Derrick fountain replacement. But idk what he’s being paid. I need to watch some tape on the guy before I come to more conclusions, but I doubt he is a chest level replacement.

We are essentially the Washington Wizards under Ernie G. Going to be overpaying below average players after we miss out on actual great players.

He adds size to a position where we are at need. Could be a solid piece in terms of rebounding and defense. However, his offensive numbers are lacking. Hopefully, this isn't the masterpiece find in the portal. We have needs all over the board. If we are rating this in terms of 1-10, I would give this a solid 6.

Considering he's gonna have to replace 75% of the roster, I guess it's a start.

Nothing like a D- to start things off...

You're spot on

With Collins, Miller, Nwoko, and Reed, we should have the 4 and 5 spots shored up. Now we can focus on small forwards and a point guard. Although I wouldn't turn down Passmore out of Kansas.

Could be a C. Time will tell. I don't think he grades higher

It never ceases to astonish me how unathletic fans mock a low average; it truly reflects a remarkable ignorance.

Championship Baby, I knew all he needed was more money and the 5.4ppg 4.2rpg talents would come sprinting to play for McCantWin.

Good rebounder and shot blocker athletic kid. Just not much offense skills wise. He'd play about the first 5 minutes of each half then we would put in Murphy at the 5 and he'd rotate in if there was found trouble or if we went with 2 bigs.

Don't really see Chest fitting in BAMA up tempo offense. Seems a better fit at Texas A&M or Tennessee in the SEC.

Thanks Al.
Feel like he could he a solid addition assuming we fill out the roster with the shooting and distribution we really need in order to start moving.

What does the lack of athleticism of the fan base have to do with anything? He’s not competing against us.

The excuse-makers (including the AD) have gone all in on the narrative that the dismal performance over the last 3 seasons (cumulatively the worst in the SEC) was solely due to LSU's lack of spending and, thus, inability to sign exceptional players. That being the case, it's understandable fans won't be overcome with excitement over the signing of a player with very average numbers in his college career when the AD/HC has said things are going to change now that they have big money to buy big-time players.
Fair or not, that is the corner LSU has boxed themselves into this offseason. If you want fans to believe things are going to be significantly different, sign elite transfers. Unless and until that happens (most) fans aren't going to give McMahon the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah…last week as the guys were leaving is “well we’re getting rid of these average talents to make way for a totally new team with our new NIL funds!”
Then our first commit out of the gate is a 6th year guy from MSU with incredibly pedestrian numbers
I’m not saying you don’t need depth pieces like this but kinda hurts the narrative of the guys that left were average at best players we were going to upgrade from.
