It’s early but 18 innings @ 3 outs per inning would be 54 outs

Not sure if that was a joke lol

Then that would be 54, not 18.

You said outs, not innings.

I feel like Christian Little posts are really an attempt to garnish some type of angst among the fans and against this young man. He has had rough outings the last few times on the mound, and has given his best every time out there. He's a team player an will give it his all if called upon.

And no way will Jay start this young man in an elimination game in the CWS.

I agree. But I'd rather see him used as a setup type with a very short leash.

They do, but go look at Little’s last 5 or so appearances. Little isn’t throwing unless we are out of arms.

I'm really not sure how relevant his last five games are when the last appearance he made was a month ago and the first game in those five appearances was two months ago. I would think what's more relevant is how he's been pitching behind closed doors as of late, what has been refined, and how comfortable the coaches would be putting him back out there.

He could still be showing he's incapable of throwing a strike, but only the coaches would know that. I can say this though, I have the utmost confidence in whoever they put out there, because they've earned it.

The problem with Little, which we all know, is his control and the walks. In this ballpark, free passes is what will lose you ballgames. Can't chance that he goes out there and walks the bases loaded and then they beat you by 1 run.

Now if we have a 4-5 run lead at some point and you want to give it a try to hopefully eat away at some outs then sure. He has to be on the shortest leash possible though.

I'd be happy to be wrong. But, I also hope we don't have to find out.

You can not afford to give away free bases.
Little has an electric arm, but can he throw strikes?
When he gets it over the plate has gets decent results.

Something has happened to this bullpen. The talent was always there, but mentally they were a mess. That has changed drastically in the postseason. Little isn't nearly our best option, but if its assumed he will have to contribute (and I'm not sure that is a certainty), I would rather it be as a starter with a short leash than a late inning appearance with runners on.

hate to break it to you jackass, but if we are going to beat Wake Forest twice, we are going to need someone like Little to step up and pitch well, just like we got last night with Ackenhouse.
First things first, we need to score runs on them, simple as that. We aren't beating them scoring 2-3 runs, we need 5+ at least. We need at least 3 guys who haven't been relied on for 50+ pitches to pitch well for extended outings over the next 2 games. Little fits that bill. He might suck and only throw 12 pitches and get pulled, but he's a guy you are likely going to have to give a shot to and see if he steps up. I'd say i'd wait for tomorrows game for that.

If you have a history of not being able to throw strikes, an elimination game in Omaha isn’t the place to test the waters or to give 3rd chances.

His pitches have zero movement. And he can’t throw strikes

Lost confidence. Then was scared to throw in the zone and walked everyone.

Confidence and a short memory are so critical for pitchers and particularly relievers. This is where Little has lost it.

At some point, we may have to use those guys. Unfortunately, we are almost at that point in our pitching.

Any benefit to speeding up the game to utilize the shadows? I understand it affects us as well. If our bats can show up early my tbiught is that we work with the shadows early maybe eith a weaker pitcher. Save our best arm to close when the shadows are gone
