Adding to the Chris Jackson discussion earlier, this video shows him at age 43 doing his thing.

Dale had this guy and Shaq at the same time, didn’t win a fricking thing, yet people are losing their minds over him sharing his name on the court with someone equally as so so. Amazing.

To this day, greatest college basketball player I’ve seen in person other than Christian Laettner. Dude could drain it from anywhere.

So smooth.

Could pull up from a dead sprint and hit a three, effortlessly.

Best shooter I ever saw.

If you were coaching when the NCAA allowed teams to play hack-a-shaq defense, how would you have coached around it?

He had way more than that, that team had Stanley Roberts, another 7 foot big man, Maurice something a great 6'7" slasher, and another 6'9" forward really good forget his name. and a decent point guard.

They just had a not great gameday coach and ran into "lethal weapon three" Georgia Tech with Kenny Anderson and those guys I think second round. So dissapointing.

He was absolutely phenomenal to watch in college. Went to every game when I was there. Every practice he would end with having to make 100 FT’s straight. Not just 100. 100 straight.

Maurice Williamson -Dude
Vernel Singleton-could absolutely jump out of the gym

Point guard you are thinking about is Mike Hansen

The following year add Harold Boudreaux and Clarence Caesar

LSU in my opinion from 88-90 should have won at least 1 championship. Only 1 problem…….. Dale Brown

Was in high school and went to a frat party the weekend he played at ole miss. Even though there tigers lost, it is still the best basketball game I’ve ever watched in person. The back and forth between him and Gerald glass might never be duplicated.

I was at both the Marymount and UNLV games. Still the best college games ever.

Dale was the reason LSU had those lineups.

Exactly. The constant bitching about Dale is pretty played out. Dale Brown is the reason LSU basketball was what it was. I’m sure he (like all of us) wishes he would’ve won more tourney games as well, but he was the reason LSU went to 10 consecutive NCAA Tournaments. People need to quit shitting on the guy IMO.

And Dale, like Les Miles, would have hired competent assistants and let them do their jobs, they both would have won a championship/ additional championships.

Talent was never an issue for those two.

Shaq and CJ played one season together. Shaq's freshman year. Teams didn't really start hacking him as a defensive game plan until his junior year.

Gee, I wasn't aware of this. Seems like you're keeping the topic going with this post that wasn't about Dale Brown. Also, I don't really see many people losing their minds about it.

Most seem to think the naming of courts is stupid anyway and note that while Brown clearly had big accomplishments as the LSU coach, a court shouldn't be named after someone unless they win a national championship. And most think adding another coach's name to the court who accomplished even less as far as winning championships of any kind goes is stupid.

Are you a child? You obviously weren’t around for the “hey day” of the Dale Brown era. Personally I don’t care for the man… but he is the absolute alpha dog of the LSU basketball program. HE BUILT THE DAMN THING! Again, not his fan, but if anybody is going to have their name on the court, Dale Brown is the only answer. If you can’t see that, there is no point debating with you because this conversation is above your level.
