Yes, and I don’t want to go through it again

i was around 8 or 9, but i remember it was rare to see LSU on TV, and when you did it was 11am on Jefferson Pilot Sports, or you had to pay for the game via Tigervision... either way, you knew there was a long shot of us winning, and we had some truly terrible years then... still pulled for them, b/c i didn't know any better, but yeah, i lived thru Hallman

That’s when I was in school at LSU. Sad part is even with the shitty teams on the field tailgating was amazing and Tiger Stadium was rocking. Back when true fans got to enjoy Tiger football.

Yeah lived through Hallman recruiting Marshal Faulk as a defensive back.
Alot of schools recruited him as a defensive back. He was all state at defensive back and running back.

Yep.
Those were god-awful years and I never want to see that return.

It is far, far worse now.
Back in the Curley days, the university did what it could to get fans in the seats. There weren’t draconian restrictions on tailgating, no parking passes, pay lots, COVID restrictions, etc. People came for affordable entertainment, only a portion of which was the game.
In the Curley era, there were somewhere between zero and no other options for things to do on a Saturday night in the Fall in BR. Now, there are many other entertainment options, the university has a tougher time convincing fans to attend games. Add the 10s of 1000s of extra seats and the costs associated with those and the school is way more financially exposed now.
In the Curley era, we didn’t have championship expectations. Even if LSU won a conference championship, we knew that the Sugar Bowl committee would do whatever they could to keep LSU out of the bowl game. Now, we have higher expectations and that raises the frustrations. In the Curley era, the only option was to get better; what does the coach who replaces O have to look forward to?
In the Summer of BLM, the school, the students, the players, and the coaches went 100% in on wokeness. The average fan was told that we were what was wrong with the university, the state, the country and the world. Yeah, okay; take my money. Ha ha!
Funny how Curley got the job because of Fabre and O is keeping it because of Burrow.

Checking in.
Not the "Reign of Terror"; it was the "Reign of Error".
Curley was statistically the WORST coach in LSU history. Never had a winning season; never had a winning SEC record.
The absolute nadir was when his former team, USM, came into Tiger Stadium and beat us.
He was so highly sought after following his success at USM. Turned out it had little to do with his coaching, and more to do with a player of his by the name BRETT FAVRE.
