Check

I was in Jackson, MS for the Ole Miss game in 1992. A 32-0 Ole Miss butt whuppin of LSU. I lost most interest in LSU football that night, until Dinardo.

It is far, far worse now.

Back in the Curley days, the university did what it could to get fans in the seats. There weren’t draconian restrictions on tailgating, no parking passes, pay lots, COVID restrictions, etc. People came for affordable entertainment, only a portion of which was the game.

In the Curley era, there were somewhere between zero and no other options for things to do on a Saturday night in the Fall in BR. Now, there are many other entertainment options, the university has a tougher time convincing fans to attend games. Add the 10s of 1000s of extra seats and the costs associated with those and the school is way more financially exposed now.

In the Curley era, we didn’t have championship expectations. Even if LSU won a conference championship, we knew that the Sugar Bowl committee would do whatever they could to keep LSU out of the bowl game. Now, we have higher expectations and that raises the frustrations. In the Curley era, the only option was to get better; what does the coach who replaces O have to look forward to?

In the Summer of BLM, the school, the students, the players, and the coaches went 100% in on wokeness. The average fan was told that we were what was wrong with the university, the state, the country and the world. Yeah, okay; take my money. Ha ha!

Funny how Curley got the job because of Fabre and O is keeping it because of Burrow.

100% agreed.

Yes. F Brett Favre for making LSU AD think Hallman could actually coach. Archmanardo was 10+ years of futility.

We were a sad, horrible team during those years. Hallman was a disgrace in so many ways, everything a coach shouldn't be!!

Sadly. Jamie Howard is still throwing pick sixes.

I was at that game in Auburn, and couldn’t believe my eyes. Why we were still passing after one pick after another still boggles my mind!

My freshman year at LSU was the SEC championship, Earthquake game year. It was downhill after that. Senior year was Curley’s first. I remember him telling the players (thru a press conference at least), “put your earrings in a box and give them to your momma” and we were like, “that dude ain’t messing around”. How wrong we were.

Check. I was at Hooters on College. Dude came in and ripped the paper towel holder off the bathroom wall. I cheered him on.

Check.

Check. Archer as well. (Had a chance to hire a young Spurrier then)

Check. Good years with Arnsparger.

Check. Stovall up and down.

Check. McClendon consistent mediocrity plus.

Bo Rein might have been the guy, but yall know what happened.

DiNardo could have been the guy, but Reese (DC) left and Tepper happened.

Saban WAS the guy and yall know what happened.

Miles was never the guy and won with NS's talent, then progressively declined.

Fisher could have been the guy, had him locked in, but FKA nixed the deal.

Orgeron was never the guy and a "Scraping the bottom of the barrel" hire by an incompetent Alleva. (As we're all seeing now and many knew would happen)
