This is weird. Dude should be a major contributor to this team, but hasn't done much and then announces a transfer after 9 games or so??
Very strange.

Investigation into Will Wade must be close to being wrapped up then. Expect bad news regarding our basketball program soon

This is one of the dumber things I've seen posted on here. Congrats.

I hate the transfer portal. It’s literally teaching kids that when things get difficult and don’t go your way, you can just check out. Life will hit these kids right in the face when the first difficult situation comes up and they can’t push through it. What happened to having a little grit and working hard to get more PT, prove yourself in practice and off the court and the rest will take care of itself.

How do you quit on your team mid-season? You can finish the season and announce your intentions afterward. You get another year either way. Where is the loyalty to your team and your coach. The 'I'm taking my toys and going home" babies are finally college age.

The NCAA created this monster. The most useless organization ever formulated.

Oh that sucks. IMO, I felt he should be starting over Wilkinson due to better defense and the scoring ability is there but you can’t see it without minutes. Wilkinson is younger and hasn’t had the injury issues and that may be part of it. I don’t see the practices every day but I definitely liked him. Kid’s been through hell getting healthy. Hate to see him go.

He wasn't getting many minutes. It is a free country, and he is playing by the rules.

sry, I don’t respect his decision bc he decided to up and quit on his team in the middle of the fricking season

everybody only worried about what’s best for themselves, then giving up at the first sign of adversity is a big reason why this country is beyond repair.

Really sucks.
I would have liked to see him play more minutes so far.
I feel like his minutes would have increased going forward as well, but who knows.
He could have been a significant contributor, but in the end, there are only so many minutes to go around.
Sorry to see him go, but I wish him the best.

I know you feel this way but the truth is the exact opposite is happening. Wade has some faults, but he values offensive efficiency over all other stats. CMJ just wasn’t the most efficient option in that regard.

I new there would be trouble when Wilkinson took his minutes. Bad deal for us. Now I know why Wade goes way out of his way to talk Wilkinson up. He knew it was coming

More proof that the Mannings aren't LSU people.

Manning was pretty efficient on offense last year when he was playing. He shot 40% from 3 and 50% on 2s. He averaged about 8 points in 22 minutes of play. He was athletic and had good offensive skills when he was healthy last year. He was good on D too. He was pretty quiet so far this year. He averaged about the same amount of points as Wilkinson.

Was coming off an injury. His confidence wasn't there early and with minimal games wasn't enough time to work his way back. I though he was starting to show some of the old CM and with more games and PT I expected him to become the 6th man so to speak. At 100% I prefer him over Smart but that ain't going to happen unfortunately. Would still need a PG and Cam ain't going anywhere so I guess he didn't want to wait although I do not agree with these players quitting mid season. And that is what they are doing. QUITTING.

While you hate to see an experienced player who has given you good minutes in the past leave, I wouldn't overreact. Wilkinson had played his way into a starting role and minutes because he does a LOT of little things that help this team win. Thomas and Smart has been huge scorers that are hard to take off the court. Wade likes Gaines and said before the UGA game that he wants to get him more minutes.

As for Penn-Johnson, it was clear early on he wasn't going to be a big factor. LSU still has Gray and Wade has said he is going to likely give him a few minutes here and there against teams who might have an effective Center (like UF). Gray probably would have played a few minutes vs. Mizzou. Then you still have O'Neal waiting to come off of injury. Wade was probably only going to play a 9-10 man rotation anyway. You still have enough to do that.

Hate to see him leave, but I can understand why if he felt his minutes were going to be limited when he only has limited eligibility left.

You are aware that Smart is having a great season thus far, right? You want to bench a guy who is in the top 10 in the SEC in ppg; 2nd (among active players) in FG% and 4th in 3 pt FG%. He also shoots 80% from the FT line and is one of the more clutch players on the team.

The amount of hate Smart gets from the fanbase is confusing (at best). The guy is a REALLY good college player
