He wasn't getting many minutes. It is a free country, and he is playing by the rules.

I wish he were still on the team, but I respect his right to do what he thinks is best for himself.

Meh he wasnt that good.

He was one of like 3-4 guys on the roster who actually play defense. It’s a big loss.

That's surprising, but understandable. Wilkinson was getting a lot of minutes at the 3. Days kind of plays a hybrid 3/4. LSU's two starting guards (Thomas, Smart) are big time scorers who need big time minutes and Gaines/Cook are getting minutes as well...kicking Smart to the 2 at time.

Being a senior, he probably figured he needed to jump now to take full advantage of the extra year rather than playing 7 minutes or so a game on this team. He's good enough to start for many teams. Fortunately/unfortunately this LSU team has a deep roster.

Now we know why the transfer SJSU came out of the blue yesterday. He's a similar player to Manning

When there’s a loop hole at work and people take advantage and exploit it, eventually work catches on and changes policy to where you can’t do that anymore. I hope the NCAA comes to this realization regarding the transfer portal. Let the bitch quitters get it all out their system, because they’re about to ruin for those in the future who have a justifiable reason to enter the portal.

We live in a society of “if you’re not good enough, QUIT!”

As opposed to being a team member and focusing on what you can do to improve yourself.

Manning can't play anywhere else THIS season right? I understand transferring after the season if he wants to play next year but what could he possibly gain by quitting mid season?

I don't think so.

I guess just getting a jump on finding a school and potentially joining up with a team to start practicing with them. Perhaps short-sighted on his part, but he may think the writing is on the wall for him this season. His minutes had gone down in each of the first 3 SEC games. He only played 9 vs. UGA in a 45 minute game. Wade has talked about playing Gaines more and we saw Hyatt give some good minutes the other night.

There’s a chance he could immediately enroll at somewhere for the 2nd semester and get a waiver from the NCAA to play this season. The NCAA has been granting a ton of waivers, especially if you have a claim like “wanting to be close to family during the pandemic” or general “mental health issues.”

I wonder if anyone truly complaining and calling the kid a quitter realize that lsu currently has multiple guys that left their previous teams mid season and transferred to LSU? That’s why they had to get a waiver or sit out the first semester of the season.

Also with his injury history he probably wants to be cautious. I get it. Had we been able to finish last season and had him healthy he would’ve had a very important role

Hes' looked unhappy on the bench the last couple of games. Coming off his injury and with all the added talent, guess it was just too hard for him to get any significant playing time.

Wish you well and all the best in/with your future endeavors.

Thanks for your time here...
