This is worth the watch. Some cliffs:

- Decided on LSU because of being 2-way player, tried to do both in fall and quickly hated trying to juggle both so just focused on pitching, got humbled as a hitter he said (first AB was against Chase Shores)

- Talked about the draft and mentioned when Arrambide/Schmidt/Curiel all decided to skip on draft and come to school; called his agent and said he was also coming to school after 1st day of draft, dont tell anyone to draft him

- Was roommates with Kale Fountain in the summer, said once he got drafted we gave him an hour to get his stuff out and go but he still talks to Kale, and was disappointed to see him go but a team met his number (signed for $1.7M)

- Mentioned the 2024 LSU team he heard from multiple people was not close at all and it was a problem; Mikie also mentioned a ton of people have came on the show and said the same thing. Casan said they are trying to keep freshman class close to change the narrative there

- Mentioned always wanting to take a dump before entering a game, was told to warm up when he was taking a dump in Missouri series

Pretty good interview, seems like a solid dude. I know what he means about having to take a dump before something big about to happen I guess it’s that fight or flight nerves coming through.

I’m going to laugh the next time I see him come into the game and the umpire rubs all over his hands

No names were mentioned, but a handful of people no longer here are obviously a big part of that

I heard from a few different people Cam Johnson did himself no favors here

That’s one of those narratives that will get repeated by people without specifics ever mentioned

Based on the way he left, I’d imagine Brady Neal wasn’t getting along great in the locker room.

And we lost a bunch of freshmen who would have competed for time this year, kucherak, Ruddell, Mitchell specifically

I guess I’m confused by all of this here. What exactly is the inference? That ppl on last years team were downing the program and perhaps jay?
Cam johnson can kick rocks. Dude can’t throw a strike. He had more than enough opportunities

Either that or they were self-centered. The way they played the first 2/3 of the season shows that as well. Only cared about their own ABs or IP, not about coming together as a team to collectively win games

Mitchell and his dad constantly posted cryptic stuff throughout the year that seemed like they weren’t happy about his situation. I was excited about his potential, but he was never seen as a legitimately top prospect, so it was kind of weird that they expected him to be an instant impact freshman.

That’s the first I’d heard of Cam being negative, but I’d imagine he was pretty disappointed in being the top overall player to make it to campus and then basically only seeing mop up duties. Neal was rumored to be a problem and Jay obviously had some promises to fill and kept him in the lineup.

When you have multiple guys like that, it leaks into the rest of the room. That’s the first time we had a bunch of high potential guys leave at once, so locker room issues make sense.

I can’t imagine Mitchell is happy about his current situation as he’s only played in 1 game for Austin Peay this season.

Also Cam isn’t seeing any meaningful innings at OU, he started the year as the Saturday starter then lost that role, and hasn’t pitched in any SEC games. I don’t think we’ll see him this weekend. In his last 2 outings, 1.1 IP, 3H, 4ER, 1k, 7BBs.

None of these guys would have. Just look at their current numbers on their new teams

I always thought that Neal saw the field because he batted from the left side had he batted from the right his playing time would have been substantially diminished.

We lost tremendous leadership after the Natty.

Your best players were your hardest workers that demanded accountability of themselves first and then demanded it from others. That created a ton of respect from others to play their role on the team, which was to be a smaller part of the big picture.

Last year was a miss on some transfers and others that were expected to step up and did not. It was a dysfunctional team.

I think we are seeing a team trying to develop chemistry while fighting hard for playing time. With all the talent we have, it has to be a pretty hard time to keep everyone team focused.

We also had players like Dugas, Beloso and Travinski that had been around for an eternity and were deep into the culture of the program.

IMO it's important to have key components of Tiger teams filled by Louisiana kids that always dreamed of growing up and playing for LSU. That has been a staple of our past championship teams and we have young players who fit this same profile who are leading this team successfully.

Maybe there's something to it. I was about an average runner in track but my best performance came when I had to shite right before the race. I won district in the 3200m my senior year as a pretty big underdog (seeded 6th) and I remember a shite snuck up on me right when it was time to warm up, teammate and coach were pretty pissed but I wasn't about to run 2 miles trying not to shite myself. Ended up breaking my PR by a minute and a half and won the damn thing. Coach asked me where the hell that had been the previous 4 years of being on the team
