I run the LSU lakes and go through the campus as well. The LSU campus is full of trash. Litter everywhere. And not just on Sunday mornings after a game. Our campus is dirty. The students just don't take pride in their university. My wife and I are both alums of LSU and both of our kids are going to college elsewhere. Its amazing how nice their college campuses are.

For me, rooting out the woke idiots is a major step in improving academics, but I can never get that across. Instead people think I want to reward the woke, if I say we should improve the situation. No, i want the replace them with serious researchers and academicians focused on breakthroughs and merit.

Crime is a BR problem.

LSU is trying to acquire adjacent properties and be stewards of development around the campus but they can’t do it alone and still be good neighbors

LSU football is more important than anything else at the university. That’s just a fact of life

LSU has became HIGHLY liberal with a ridiculous student body (see Freshmen night at the P-Mac)

Actually, universities such as Alabama and Colorado most recently have grown in large part due to football success. The key is, what u do with the money you’re bringing in

Anyone who can't understand how much the two go hand in hand for modern day state flagship universities - especially in the South, is rather clueless.

Exactly. A great football team is a huge boost to a school if leveraged the right way. The growth at Alabama probably didn’t come with an infusion of shootings and allowing less qualified students into the school.

Ideally, this is where we SHOULD be. Texas, Ohio State, and several other SEC schools have it figured out.

College men from LSU
Went in dumb, come out dumb too
Hustlin' 'round Atlanta in their alligator shoes
Gettin' drunk every weekend at the barbecues

Alum here. Agree that probably 70% of the people that frequent this board as well as the same % who show up on campus to tailgate/"go to da game", aren't graduates of LSU. Which doesn't mean anything. Other than the fact that those folks have no invested interest in the school other than football. Some may give to TAF so that they can buy season tickets and this makes them feel invested, but could care less what is going on with the university outside of that realm.

The school is becoming trashy. Literally and figuratively. It sucks when it shows up all over social media (the PMAC party comes to mind), because those of us with a degree going back 30 years ago, have to deflect it when it comes up in business lunches with alums from other schools.

It's a bad look for those of us with an LSU diploma. The current state of academics as well as the general trashiness.

Ask Alabama what Saban's tenure did to their academic standing.

Exactly, and this becomes a drain on the school. It’s not THAT hard to host events that don’t look ghetto, but I’m sure the ones in charge love that sort of thing.

All of these people saying they don’t want their kids at LSU creates a major problem. Do you think the people shaking their asses at the PMAC are going to end up as the big boosters that fund our athletic programs? It goes hand in hand.
