It's not about just catching the ball, but getting open too.

Yeah, I actually thought lack of separation was a bigger issue than drops. I do think there are a lot of other factors. Burrow did not take a lot of chances with throws which is good and bad. Fewer INTs, but not giving WRs a chance to win 50/50 balls.

With a full offseason with his WRs, hopefully better OL play and a stronger run game SE will open the play book up and take more chances. Also, I would like Burrow to put more faith in his WRs and offense.

Read the title of the chart closely. It's the % of incompletions that resulted from drops, not the % of passes that were dropped. Thus, someone with a high number of overall incompletions could have a lower % for this metric despite an unusual amount of drops.

How many of those drops were for TD’s? It seems like a lot.

I’d like to see the same list for intentional throw always due to O-Line breakdowns with no one open.

I read it

The chart is clear. It shows which QB had is completion pct screwed the most due to receivers drops

Chase and Marshall will be your top two receivers next year. Jefferson will be a solid slot guy but he won’t repeat as the go to guy.

A dominant outside WR with elite hands and route running that just finished leading the team in every statistical category by a huge margin will become a “solid slot guy” next year bc geauxtigers33 said so.

They usually do an adjusted completion percentage for draft QBs only I think

So are we against or for Burrow

This is a response thread to an Ensminger ins't bad post. He kind of blamed dropped passes for lack of production but Joe was 2nd best in that.

It says he had a young OL against the hardest schedule of pass rushers in the country and was rushed on a lot of his throws bc of it.

I haveno idea why you think

1. Jefferson will be moved to the slot when he's played outside all year
2. Marshall will pass him up when Jefferson clearly was way way ahead of him

Stop going by recruiting rankings and watch how they play. Chase finally came on very late this year but what did Marshall show that he's going to suddenly send Jefferson to a position he's never played?

I';m not saying Marshall is a bust after 1 year but he definitely didnt show any signs of even pushing Jefferson all season long.

Jefferson and Chase outside, Marshall inside as a "big slot" could open up some nice possibilities for our offense.

Ok so Joe is an accurate passing QB and our receivers did not really drop that balls but because of our young OL and hard schedule he has a horrible completion rate. So next year when we have an easy schedule and an experienced OL Joe’s completion rate will be through the roof.
Got it.
Oh by the way, one has nothing to do with the other. Either you can throw strikes or you can’t.

Yes, there's a reason his completion percentage was so much better in the last four games when the competition dropped.

I've never said he's incredibly accurate, he can get better there.

The SEC had some really terrible WR play this past season, then, I guess.

It wasn't how many drops that I complained about. It was the timing of the drops!

I think midway through the season he was either 1st or 2nd in the SEC in % of passes dropped. It got better as the season went on but I think the beginning of the season set the narrative in people's minds.
