If this is true then Kelly doesn’t expect to return for after this season. We’re going 6-6 if there is any fire left in the players when we play WKU.

You don’t have any idea what the major donors are or aren’t doing

By all accounts from the few actual insiders on the boards, the powers that be are pissed and the nuclear option is on the table.

If they were done with Kelly they would be scraping together the massive buyout but it doesn't appear they are

How would you know if they are or are not?

Your second point is correct though, many have told Woodward either they will greatly scale back their NIL donations or will stop all together.

So, that creates a discussion...

Does Woodward look at a pull back in NIL and think the program will fall much further and revenue will drop?

Does he work different angles to figure out how to pay off CBK to get the program headed in the right direction?

Right now, he knows this is not going to change as the talks to get CBK to become more focused and intense have been fruitless.

He absolutely treats the job like a 9-5 and delegates to the rest of the staff a ton of work. I remember last season someone connected said BK needs to start worrying more about the team than his golf game.

I kinda respect the hustle

If your boss tells you that you need to put in more hours and you don't, how is that not insubordination and cause for termination?

This is stunning most of all in this. This is a $100 million dollar HC at a Top 10 CFB job and he needs to be talked to by the AD to put in more work?

I think everyone agrees there is no crime in a brief vacation when the program isn’t a complete mess.

Yes, 5-2 with the schedule we’ve had so far and playoff elimination looming is a mess considering the investment this program has out in.

I don't

I said "it doesn't appear"

It does not appear they are

But they might be behind the scenes

There’s also not a ton to “scrape up.”

Even if you assume the total buyout is $54 million (it’ll be closer to $30 million with offsets), there is no lump sum payment to make, like Billy Napier is about to get.

The buyout is paid monthly, just like Kelly gets paid now. The only difference once Kelly is fired is that he’s being paid to not coach instead of to coach.

So the big money guys would need to get rounded up to make sure they can hire an expensive new coach after the season. But there’s time for that between now and a new hire (Kelly’s hiring was announced on November 30, 2021) - the actual buyout of Kelly doesn’t really require a ton of financial work on the front end.

I dropped this on the score board Saturday it’s all coming to light now after that loss to Vandy. This ship is sinking fast.

It was a horse shite performance. Not sustainable for a team with playoff aspirations.

He makes 10 million a year, his team is collapsing, his offense is pure dogshit. No, you do not get a vacation during the season unless you’re traveling to recruit
