First off... Ole Miss, Wisconsin, and Baylor arent comparable programs to LSU. Much harder to build and sustain success at those programs.

Now only $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is needed for recruiting. Can LSU beat the likes of Texas, Florida, A&M and Georgia? No
While I definitely agree we don’t have Texas money, I do think the “poor ole broke LSU can’t compete” narrative is a bit silly. LSU has put significant money into NIL the past 10 months or so and is definitely comparable to a program like Florida.

I don’t hate Kelly, nor do I think he’s a bad football coach. It’s ok acknowledge both things that he has done well and mistakes he has made. I think he’s done a relatively good job since coming to LSU. None of that will matter though if he doesn’t win a championship.

Kiffin would eat at LSU with our WRs. He's only one on that list I'd consider over BK. James Franklin, just can't buy it.

Lane, if he sticks at Ole Miss will probably be a GOAT there.
Uh, you might want to look up the record of Johnny Vaught before crowning Kiffin as the GOAT at Ole Miss. He won the SEC in 1947, '54, '55, '60, '62. and '63. The 1963 team went 10 - 0. I understand the SEC is a tougher league now than then, but winning six SEC championships is nothing to sneeze at. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that is six more than Kiffin has won.

If Lane is the guy some of yall claim he is, why hasn’t he gotten a premiere job after all this time in Oxford?

Ed Orgeron assembled arguably the greatest team ever... filled with primarily in-state recruits.
College football has changed big time in last 5 years.
Imagine if Jamar Chase, then, was dazzled with the row of Lamborghinis at Texas during the recruiting process. Would he have ended up in burnt Orange?
As one layer of one example…only for example.
If anything, it speaks to the opposite. Coach Kelly has to do to offset the resources imbalance.

Would have loved to have him. But there's zero chance he would've taken the job. Hell, he passed on the Bama job. Dude is set at Oregon unless he gets the NFL itch.

I don't think the rebuild argument holds as much weight as it once did in NCAA. At one point it took years, 2-3-4 years to develop especially in a rebuild. It's different now.
You can instantly flip a roster to a playoff team due to free agency with the transfer portal. This has been proven several times already when you look at recent playoff teams. They just bought their rosters and instantly flipped to being a winning team.
Not saying anything here is incorrect I'm just saying the rebuild argument doesn't hold weight in 2025. It's much easier to rebuild now than it was 10 years ago.

Jon Gruden.
never coached a day in college football where recruiting is as important as field coaching.
Gruden does have a Super Bowl to his credit. His career coaching record is 0.511. His record at Tampa where he won said SB was .509. In 15 yrs he coached 10 playoff games and his record was, guess what, 5-5. He was 3-0 in his SB run. So in his 14 other yrs he was quite pedestrian with 2 playoff wins.
He does not strike me as the coaching genius that the Rant annoints on him.

What's the head to head records of the coaches you included vs BK?

Only part I’ll disagree with is that Fickell took over a mess in Wisconsin which was as bad or worse than our roster. But I don’t disagree with the overall point. Knowing what I know, Fickell’s still my top guy. Surprised how bad Riley has turned out. Surprised how well Franklin turned out, but still don’t think he wins a championship.

"Chucky" just stated in an interview recently that he wants to get back into coaching and wants to coach at an SEC school! He's there for the taking.
He’s an NFL lifer and has t coached in over a decade.
He will not be successful

His D Coordinator hire was a home run
I like Baker and think he can be good but to call it a home run thus far isn’t right.
If it were a home run, his D would have at least slowed Milroe down in a home game with everything on the line.

BK needs a hype man. His teams, for whatever reason, seem to have games here and there, where they just seem uninspired
Might as well bring Tommy Moffitt home..

If emotion is what is driving decision making in the fan base....then Ed "Bebe" Orgeron was the true hire, and we should have spared ourselves a lot of trouble and $16 million dollars and not firing him.
There is no point hiring a HoF coach with proven experience running an elite program, and hating him, just because he does not talk, walk and share the same intellect as us.

BK is a far better program manager than Kiffin. You will see that in the long run.
Football is not just offense, defense, special teams and recruiting. It's a lot more. That is why Les sustained a program for 11 seasons while Ed Orgeron flamed out in 5.
When EdO was hired we said that we had Canada and Aranda and 2 great co-ordinators who could make up for the lack of x's and ops of the head coach. What happened? Yes we won a natty in 2019 because we caught lightning in a bottle. After that EdO did EdO like things.
