Brian Kelly Press Conference - vs. Texas A&M...link and tidbits inside

Tidbits:
- LSU (9-2, 6-1 in SEC) will travel to College Station this Saturday to play Texas A&M (4-7, 1-6)...kickoff is at 6pm CT on ESPN.
- LSU is favored by 9.5 points. Over/under is 46.5 points.
- LSU leads the overall series, 35-22-3... Link to series history
- A&M has a young, talented team...that has lost focus at times but will be dangerous when they put it all together.
- Kelly likes to have multiple captains/leader throughout the season...rotating captains.
- Regarding Garrett Dellinger: had some playing time at guard vs. UAB and he will continue to get worked in at guard.
- On Thursday, team will practice in morning, and have Thanksgiving dinner with team and families...Team meeting at noon on Friday and arrive into College Station at 6pm.
- Kelly not surprised by the SEC...expected it to be difficult
- Very complimentary of Noah Cain...doesn't have wow factor but does so many things well and really helped himself this past weekend.
- Josh Williams was kept out due to knee sprain...he is making progress and Kelly is hopeful he will play this weekend.
- Transfer portal helped team a lot...LSU was able to get high character players that have contributed to the team's success.
- On Quincy Wiggins: flourished in the last month...has been redshirted for the year after appearing in four games.
- On Derrick Davis: says he should have been moved to RB sooner...will redshirt since he has played in four games...excited about his future
- On Jayden Daniels: needs to continue to prepare the right way and be assertive/aggressive...had the flu the week leading up to the Arkansas game
- Flu has been affecting the team the last few weeks...

Acknowledged that they are a young and talented team. Young = inexperienced and inconsistent.
Look at what Rattler did to Tennessee. There's always the fact that ONE player on defense or offense can make a difference in the outcome of the game. A&M has players and I hope there are none when we play them.

There was a thread the past few days that talks about how close all of A&M’s losses have been. This game isn’t going to be a cake walk. This is A&M’s Super Bowl.

I agree with this in some ways, but I don't think the team A&M fields Saturday will be the team they fielded the majority of the season. Between all the opt outs, suspensions, injuries, etc etc they're a shell of the team they had earlier in the year, and even that team wasn't good.

Sad he’s not playing against A&M but Davis could be a sleeper for a really good back next year. Kid has wheels. Hope he doesn’t transfer in the off season

I was looking forward to seeing Derrick Davis get a couple of more pops at RB this year, but if they are going to redshirt him, I can understand that too. I'm guessing he will stay at RB in future years. He looked pretty good in the carries he had this past week.

He only played RB against UAB. The other games, he probably got PT on special teams or at safety.

They’re loaded with talent and a win against LSU would give them some momentum headed into the offseason in a season otherwise below their standard of play.
