Also had this injury playing tennis. Took me more than six weeks to recover. I served for a while but mainly just aggravated it. I would be surprised if he plays again this season.

They never called mine a tear, but it lasted the entire season and was uncomfortable as hell the entire season

Now a qb only throws 40 times a game and not 100s of strokes like tennis, but they also get hit

It feels terrible. At least for me it was extremely painful to get the MPH up on the serve. I would expect there would be similar problems trying to throw with any velocity given the motion is so similar.

Sounds like the psoas

If true don’t with that on anyone. That is a very important muscle and just a tight or weak Psoas is extremely painful

Problem is that is a very very difficult muscle to strengthen stretch or rehab. There are no good exercises to stretch or contract it.

As for the Auburn game, we'll know more information a few days before the game. We'll know more information about playing in the coming weeks when we get more information.

It does sound like psoas muscle strain. If he actually ruptured the tendon or muscle, he’d be a surgery patient. Likely strained muscle or iliopsoas tendon. There are actually a couple of surgical procedures to “release” a damaged iliopsoas tendon to reduce pain.

Given where we are in the season, the mechanics of playing quarterback and the violence that can happen, I’d be surprised if he returns. He could rehab, get hit once the wrong way and be back to close to square one.

That tweet has me hyped. In just 3 games he's proved so many people wrong. It's such a shame it's had to take a backseat to all this other shite.

So....what I am hearing is that Myles Brennan is amazingly tough for finishing out that game. This is the kind of stuff that will win you a team.

There are 3 different types of abdominal strain, from a mild tear to a complete rupture of the muscle:

A 1st degree strain causes damage to several of the muscle fibres and the player may suffer from tightness and mild cramps in the stomach region after playing football.

A 2nd degree strain damages more of the muscle fibres. The player will feel moderate pain when the torn muscle is touched, stretched or contracted.

A 3rd degree strain results in the muscle being ruptured. It will be extremely painful, making it difficult to move and there may be extensive bruising if internal tissue bleeding occurs.

A 1st degree strain will probably require 3 weeks of rest, whereas recovery time increases to 4-6 weeks for a 2nd degree strain. A 3rd degree strain will take at least 3 months to recover from and may even require surgery to repair the damaged muscle.

Goddamn I wish he would have gotten out of bounds. Hats off to him for fighting through the pain but we’re fricked now.

I think this injury is a little more than a partial tear.

No he’s not. That was a tweet in reference to him finishing the game with the torn muscle.

We’ll be lucky to see Myles again this season if we’re being honest

He’s out, maybe he could come back for the bowl game. That is something he needs to rest for his future. I’d be shocked if we see him before December

Really, really sucks. Dude was coming into his own, was probably going up the draft boards... he can make every throw and some that a lot couldn't.

Missing a lot of games this season throws everything up in the air for the QBs; if someone emerges, do you really go back to Brennan? And Brennan looked to have pro potential; does this screw him up there?
