Per Myles' dad according to ( The Athletic pay article)

quote:

Myles Brennan couldn’t breathe, couldn’t shout calls, couldn’t do just about anything without that searing pain piercing his abdomen. His muscles rose up and down again with each breath, further aggravating the LSU quarterback’s midsection.

quote:

On a play near the goal line, Brennan’s body contorted with his legs going one way and his upper body another, splitting that muscle like a piece of steamed asparagus, as LSU trainer Jack Marucci put it to Owen. The pain was excruciating.

quote:

Ed Orgeron said today it's something that can heal. For now, it's about pain tolerance. Brennan's status is questionable. “If he’s not on that field Saturday, he’s hurting a lot more than you and I could deal with.”

He mine as well pull the plug on his year, no saving this team anyway. Get healed up for next year and let’s take our lumps with the young guys and get them some experience

I have aggravated that tendon multiple times (tennis), and it was very uncomfortable any time my hands were above my shoulders(serving mainly)

I would imagine a tear would make playing QB impossible. Im guessing adrenaline made finishing the game possible

Obviously that’s serious but just how serious? I know there’s a few doctors on this board.

The article said there's no surgery so it will all be about pain tolerance. He spent the weekend back in Mississippi and his dad said he looked better Sunday but doesn't know if he can go. It doesn't read like something they think will keep him out for the whole season, but will just be a constant pain he has to deal with.

Sports medicine says partial tears are otherwise known as “second degree” strains... which are otherwise known as “moderate” strains (yea I know that’s a lot of synonyms... I didn’t write the sports medicine bible).

Recovery ranges from 2-6 weeks. If this Saturday marks two weeks, that means 11/21 marks six. So... in a textbook world, anywhere from Auburn to Arkansas.

I’ll bet they play this conservatively though. I know he is dying to get back on the field, but rushing rehab at this point would be terribly short-sighted.

With the COVID I'm pretty sure Myles has 2 more years after this if he wanted to use it. (shite if he doesn't play again this year he'd get that extra year in normal circumstances too)

Sounds painful. Atleast he can come back 2 more seasons.

Also had this injury playing tennis. Took me more than six weeks to recover. I served for a while but mainly just aggravated it. I would be surprised if he plays again this season.
