I can see why SEC would be pissed we brought in Kiffin and Wade and proceeded to support them push right up to the edge of the rules like they do.
It's not like any other SEC team has hired coaches who pushed the rules. Surely nobody would dare hire say Hugh Freeze and Bruce Pearl at the same time for FB and MBB, right? They would have to hammer them for lack of institutional control and expel/suspend/fine the shite out of a school going after known cheaters like that right?

It's not our fault we have friends in high places...just like the SEC when they filed their lawsuit against LSU in Alabama, just like Ole Miss when they filed and won their lawsuit in Mississippi to play a 6th-year QB who is ineligible according to the NCAA/SEC, etc. Don't hate the player...

Being "annoying" isn't the issue. The SEC is now saying that it is "uncomfortable" with the "political influence" at LSU... but there has always been political influence for every state school in the SEC.
The leaders of LSU's athletic department report to the LSU president. He reports to the Board of Supervisors... which are all (save the student representative) appointed by the governor and are approved by the Louisiana State Senate.
The idea that college athletics has ever been devoid of political influence is patently absurd.
