Its not a bad play call unless they run the ball. But Sloan knew thats how you beat that play so he probably told Minchey you see that formation check to a run.

As soon I saw us in the formation I knew it was a 1st down for them. That play worked once’s and he even quit running it last year because it did t work.
It takes too long for the DL to get to the OL.

That’s exactly what happened
I hope Sloan reminds Baker about that play forever. What an absolute moron. Just line your guys up and get a fricking stop.

Hopefully Lane tells him he never wants to see that on the field again.

the worst part of that play is Princewell had the RB dead for a loss and went after the QB instead
nobody was prepared for a run on that play

That is one of the many plays that show have poorly Keys played.
He blocked himself on a play that is designed to allow him to avoid being blocked.
If everything else goes exactly the same and Keys just steps up into the run lane, LSU wins.

quote:uh it's prob one of the worst defensive play calls I've ever seen, the guy at the back of the line took so long to reach his position a lineman was waiting for him. That formation tells me one thing: Blake does not want to be here. That is some low-bar football right there.
ts not a bad play call

It was such an infuriating call! Do that against Southeastern or Tech. Don’t try that nonsense in a close game when it seems your team finally has momentum and it’s 3rd and 10!

Gambled that Kentucky wouldn't run the ball on 3rd and long.

We ran this formation multiple times last year. shite maybe even back in '24 as well If I'm remembering correctly.
We did it a couple of times against Arkansas and Whit got that pic in the back field on it, didn't he?
I don't recall it being overly successful in the previous times tried

It gets worse the more I watch.
Both Ross and Princewell sell out on the pass and literally run into each other at the QB, without ever thinking he would hand it off. Princewell had the RB dead to rights but never even looked at him.
Dylan Carpenter gets manhandled out of the way.
And Keys doesn't do anything but stand there in confusion until he gets blocked.

That was Keys. He didn't play it right. He literally ran into the block.

Missed holding call on #71 that allowed that play to succeed too.

Sloan saw that last season and knew how to react. He checkmated BB.HORRIBLE CALL against a OC who knew how to beat it.BBwent brain dead on that play.
