But he's too small to be an everyday player in the SEC!

That statement flashed through my mind when I was posting. Very apt statement.

He'll probably get overlooked in the draft a little because of his lack of size, but some good team who scouts well will get a steal and he will have a long NFL career.

I thought he was being overlooked when we signed him. He's not getting overlooked anymore.

You would think double teams would easily defeat a guy this size. Not so.

He knows how to quickly shed blockers and has one hell of a motor.

I have been guilty of the eye rolls and the thought of saying to myself, “not this shite again”, when CBK talks about culture. But that’s what Gooden has been since day one of arriving on campus. Teammates love him. He will be a great leader for the younger D-linemen we have that are very talented.

Reminds me of Ramsay Dardar, same build and they both had that ability to play way above their size and influence the game. Gooden is already one of my favorite Tigers on this team. Has that big country kid that just loves to play football. Been a while since we had a legit 3 deep at interior D-line.

The number of contributors at each level (DL, LB, DB) is truly impressive.

I mean the talent is definitely close to the 2011 level. We have depth too. Crazy how in one season the portal just made us elite.

His closing speed is amazing for a DT.

Didn't Kyle specifically target him? Dude looks like Jon Randle or Laroi Glover out there

No. They have a entire scouting department now.

He was in the later portal period and lsu got him in first and closed the deal.

It's like watching a Really Pissed Off.......O R A N G U T A N !!

Absolutely M E N A C I N G !!

Without any makeup, costume or mallet/club as a weapon or prop......Just him with those Flailing Arms......He could have led battles as an Orc Monster in Lord of the Rings!

Great get off
Sheds blockers well
Good swim move
Nice closing speed
Good motor

I don't get all the hype for an underweight DL guy.

He looks bigger than 6'1" 270. And more importantly, plays bigger than that. If he can get it to 285 and keep his motor and quickness he'd be looked at more by NFL teams.

Technique, use of hands, motor, violent at point of attack, sheds defenders, doesn’t let OL get ahold of him. He’s a definite student of the game and his position.
Pete Jenkins would be in love!
