Bad feeling it comes down to committee picking 11-2 LSU or 11-1 Georgia if we win out

I don’t know maybe it’s because I’m pessimistic but I don’t see how LSU is a “lock” to be in the playoff if we win out.

Do we get in over USC, Clemson (1 loss conference champs)?

How much help do we really need?

LSU will make the playoffs if we win the SEC Championship

In my opinion, if Lsu beats Georgia you cannot leave them out. They value conference championships.

11-2 LSU is in, as SECC at #4 seed against Ohio St. Must beat the faggies first..

LSU is in no way a lock for CFP with a win over UGA in SECCG.

downvote away

If we win the SEC and get left out then so be it.

A major success of a year and it would devalue the title this year if you put in Georgia who lost the SEC over LSU who beat Georgia to win the SEC.

Just enjoy the ride

Sure wish “most improved” was a factor

Except when they don't.

Penn St won the Big 10 AND beat Ohio St in 2016. Yet, 1 loss OSU (who didn't even reach the Big 10 Championship game) got in ahead of 2 loss Penn St.

Now, LSU would have two (likely) top 5 wins (Georgia and Alabama) should they win out that no one else can match. But when entry into the playoffs is left to subjectivity there are no guarantees

The chances USC, Clemson and TCU all run the table are very small. Even if it comes to that, the loser of a CG has never gotten in when the champion did not. It’s not a “lock”, but a lot would have to go the wrong way for LSU not to make the CFP if they win out.

Come on man, it’s very simple, LSU beats Georgia, they’re both in, LSU at 3, Georgia at 4. Michigan/Ohio State winner and TCU.

winning the seccg is more prestigious than winning the nc nowadays.

That’s the only time in 8 years that a non-champ made the field when the champion did not. No CG loser has made it when the champion did not. That makes this a very different scenario.

If it were that simple, this conversation wouldn’t be happening every single day. It’s complicated and completely subjective. Unless you can predict the outcomes of the games and read the committee member’s minds, then nothing about it is simple.

Honestly, that's a good thing. I'd rather them have to pick between us than pick both of us. They will have little choice but to err on the side of the team that just won the head-to-head. And that means no rematch. We do NOT want to play a rematch.

The CFP Committee seems to value big wins more than bad losses. Win out and we are in

=I think we have to beat Georgia by double digits to secure a spot in the playoffs.

Most important thing is beat Georgia and enjoy the SEC championship..

Anything after that is out of our control and is all politics and marketing at that point.

So two other 1-loss P5 champions (ACC and Pac12) are getting left out for 1)a 1-loss uga that didn't win anything, and 2)a 2-loss LSU?

that isn't happening
