18 milllion in the portal and how many of them were worth the money? Mansoor, Haulcey and……. The misevaluation of talent has been a huge problem, no one talks about. LSU spent the 3rd most NIL last year, the 2 teams ahead of us were OHIO state and Texas. We made the Texas bowl they both made deep playoff runs with Ohio State winning it all!

We needed to go into the portal and bring in a new OL coach.

Biggest failure.

I thought Cooley played well. Gooden, Patrick Payton, and Jack Pyburn all played well on the DL.

Ummm Bernard Gooden, Jimari Butler, Jack Pyburn, Tamarcus Cooley, Patrick Payton, Braelin Moore, Josh Thompson. Not every transfer is going to be a star, but all those guys were worth getting considering that they were better than who was on our roster.

2024: The portal got us 6 defensive starters & 2 or 3 pretty good back-ups. On the offensive side, was it players or coaching? I vote we had a coaching up problem.
Can't blame AT for that.

People have high high thoughts on Glasscock being a boy wonder type so we should be in good hands.

1) you don't know he's gone yet
2) CLK has the ability to pick his staff, Glasscock did a good job at ole miss if AT leaves
3) it's possible both have jobs at LSU

BK acted like that portal haul was full of rockstars. They were mostly other teams bench warmers, with 3 or 4 exceptions. About 15 of that $20 mil was wasted. Todd needs a refund.

The defense was SIGNIFICANTLY improved because of the transfers. You went from two years of an abysmal secondary to arguably the best CB in the country and the leading tackler in the SEC and likely 1st team all SEC (Haulcy) safety in Haulcy. The DL was also very good.

The offensive transfers simply had no chance because the coaching on that side of the ball was horrible. Beginning in week 1 all the way through the gameplan/approach gave LSU no shot.

That said, I don't think losing Thomas would be a big loss

Lane brought his own GM with him. He is on the ground in BR; he was on one of 2 MMR jets. He knows how to do it.

Just being plain honest here.

Sooo most of them haha

We tried to get conception and lost bidding. Was a great portal class. Issue was We didn't develop our own stud oline recruits.

According to insiders on TOS, this is not likely.

With a good offensive scheme, I think Barion Brown can be a game changer. The talent is there. Did not put him in situations to utilize his strengths.
