Like, he literally said this. But instead of taking is own words at face value we’re gonna contort reality to make this about Daniels?

Do you imagine Boutte coming back to face another season with Daniels NOT throwing the ball? I do not, but whatever...

Your reasoning makes 0 sense. If Daniels were so much better than Johnson why didn’t Boutte have an even better statistical year with the former? Geezus.

Well I mean he was half assing it out there for the beginning of the year and had alot more drops than usual.

Maybe it wasn't all on JD.

There was little chemistry between he and Daniels so Daniels is gone.

Totally depends on a QB pushing the ball down the field and that isn’t JD . Now , maybe , like Paul of Tarsus , JD can suddenly receive enlightenment and learn to throw guys open and on time . After 4 years of starting … Not likely . Nuss or WH time !! Otherwise , why does Boutte come back for more of the same ??

Previous regime got a lot more out of both bech and boutte than the current one did.

Like 5 drops in game one, anlone—and there were very catchable passes.

Perhaps a good year does improve his draft choices relative to the draft talent next year.

The possible unseen benefit of NIL is that players now have an option to stay their SR year, since they aren’t scrambling for money to live, or to help their family out financially.

He saw his draft grade and the correct move is to return, maybe?

Right. All of the other W$R had monster seasons this year, so you make a good point.

Because it is in his best interest to do so.

All the speculation and prophecy in the world makes no difference. it's better for him so he is coming back.

of course that's the reason. Every rational person knows that.

But many on this board think he's coming back for love of LSU and to win a championship. The same guy who was going to Bama last year until Gordon bought him.

Well at least Nuss has that courage thing down

So many of you are wishcasting his reason for staying as some type of swipe at Jayden. I don’t understand this place.

It could be just that. It could be just the opposite. It could be neither.

Yep. They are statistically about the same. Not great, not atrocious.

254 371 68.5 2,774 7.5 16 3 54 143.9

225 373 60.3 2,815 7.5 27 6 67 144.4

Johnson had more passing TDs but if you add JDs rushing TDs, these two are basically the same QBs (albeit with different styles of play).

Finally something we agree on. Max had a lot of the same problems JD had in terms of going through progressions and pre snap reads but Daniels ability to make plays with his feet put him far ahead of Max IMO.
