As an LSU fan who do you not want Bama to hire?

For me it’s Kiffin followed closely by Kalen DeBoer.
If Kiffin can give LSU trouble at Ole Miss I can only imagine what he could accomplish at Bama. He’s also young and could stay there several years.
Kalen DeBoer has simply been a winner everywhere he’s been. Amazing what he’s done at Washington in two seasons.

He is an elite coach

Not too worried about DeBoer, he has a couple of years of experience at a D1 school as a head coach. Not a coach of this region. Yes, he may do amazing, but it is a huge risk. Far from a proven track record.

Kiffin would bring a ton of culture change and would decimate Ole Miss which would be fun.

Honesty, I'm just not worried about anyone in particular. They will for sure get a "solid" hire, but having to follow Saban, especially now that Saban is sticking around is like following Skip at LSU. Nearly an impossible task.

LOL!!!
This fansbase is absolutely terrified of guy who has done absolutely nothing of note in his entire career.

Oh no. Ole Miss had a top 10 finish and are going all in for next year. So what.

Lane has never shown himself to be a great recruiter and he’s never sustained anything.

Hell of all the potentially realistic options for Bama, he’s the one I hope they hire. He isn’t mature enough to handle the pressure of following Saban and will flame out quickly.

AND it would hurt Ole Miss.

Stop being a bunch of pussies about this guy.

He’s not the first ole Miss coach to give LSU trouble.

Don’t care. No one will do what Saban did because the rules have changed for the better.

Lane Kiffin or Steve Sarkisian-- don't want to see either on the sidelines in Tuscaloosa

It doesn't really matter. They are going to regress, that is just a simple fact. Everyone calls Saban the GOAT and when the greatest to ever do it leaves, there is going to be a natural drop off, unless his replacement turns into the next Saban, but I doubt we'll see another accomplish what he has for a while, especially not how things are structured now.

Saban was able to stash 5 stars on his bench cause they couldn't transfer and they knew they'd get a natty if they stuck around for 2-3 years, and they had guys going to the NFL on the reg, so spots open up every year. Those days are over with NIL and Portal.

If he could handle the pressure of coaching under Saban he will certainly be able to handle the pressure of coaching there with Saban gone.

Brian Kelly. Not that LSU couldn't turn around and hire a coach, but I expect big things next year from Kelly.

The only name out there that would be successful more than 3 years down the road is lane kiffin. He’s the balance of elite play caller with being a cocky prick that it takes to follow Saban and that fanbase

I also am fine with them hiring him because it simply preserves the status quo. Bama stays elite (slight drop off) like they have been for 15 years now and ole miss goes back to the cellar.

All the other names-DeBoer lanning sark etc would crumble under the pressure from the fan base.

The one thing that Kiffin would do at Bama would be to decimate "The Process" he would just simply kill it...and frankly I'd love to see it.

On a program sustaining scale of Gene Stallings to Mike Shula I see Lane as much closer to Shula than Stallings.

ETA I think Bama is going to have to get used to some level of a step back....you aren't going to hire anyone that will keep it going and sustain it as good as Saban has....you just have to hire the guy that won't fall off too much. I'm not sure Kiffin is that guy.

The Lane syndrome is wild. LSU had a historically bad defense, gave up 700 yards of offense, on the road, and we still were up 2 scores in the 4th, blew it, then almost drove the field in a few seconds to win.

Lane will not be elite at Bama because he can’t make adjustments or get out of his own way. Will they go 10-2/9-3, maybe MAYBE 11-1 every now and then…probably. But there’s no one to worry about because it ain’t Nick Saban. If Kiffin goes there, Alabam went from an A+ head coach to a B. And Ole Miss…well who knows what type of collapse they’re gonna have
