He’s earned the right to have more than one game with an inexperienced secondary to right the ship.

05 pass D started really poorly against AZST and Tenn and turned into one of the better defenses we’ve had.

We’ve got decades worth of film on the air raid. Leach hasn’t changed.

"If Pelini doesn't learn to adjust his defense to the offense they are facing, there will be many more MSU nights for LSU fans."

I'm not defending Pelini as I think it was the perfect storm for State. This game was their season. Nevertheless we got out-played and out-coached. It happens sometimes.

I do think Pelini knows a hell of lot more about football than you do.

It's probably overly optimistic, but we're still not eliminated from the playoffs with a week 1 loss

These guys will keep focusing on improving and we'll take each challenge as it comes

People keep repeating this and it is true, there's plenty of film of his offense. There wasn't however film of the players at MSU in his offense. That does make a difference. The players can make the system sometimes, better at least, because of their physical abilities. Kylin Hill, the wrs being more speedy and athletic than we had seen previously. All plays into things when scouting is concerned. We trusted our CBs to be better physically and the weren't. Most schools know that beforehand. It's still a mistake not to adjust but I see it moreso of the original game plan being believing in our guys. Stingley changed things unexpectedly.

I won’t be surprised to see Trask & Co. break all of Costello’s SEC records - with maybe 700 yards passing against LSU. I hope I’m wrong.

There is years of game film on leach. His offense is no surprise.

Yea there’s more than a decade of film on his offense. LSU looked like it was some brand new offense never seen before. They had all summer to learn/practice some zone to defend this.

One of the worse preparation/coaching jobs I have ever seen in my life.

Pelini shite the bed against State. I don't see how anyone can argue that. They ran the same number of plays against Arkansas and had 300 less yards. The reason was that Arkansas ran zone just like every other successful defense vs. the Air Raid and kept the receivers in front of them. It should have been our game plan all along whether or not Stingley was out.

With that said the defense looked much better against Vandy. Granted it was Vandy but hopefully they will improve from week to week moving forward.

1) Sting out with ZERO time to practice guys switching roles.
2) Ward had almost no practice time because surgery.
3) Evans only at LSU 2 weeks.
4) Ricks a true freshman
5) Air raid requires constant nickel/dime.
6) Zone takes a lot longer to learn than man.

It was a bad night. Give MSU credit. That night they lined up and whipped the Tigers.

The Mississippi lost was their wake up call. See what they did to Vandy.

It couldn’t be any worse than 600 yds passing.
They’ve played zone before.

If we played zone, it would have been worse, not better. If Sting wasn't out, we win that game. Quit being a whiny bitch with your Chicken Little crap.

You’re trying to reason with one of the worst posters on this site.

Transitive property does not work in football or any sports. Transitive property does not work in sports. Transitive property does not work in sports.

How many times does this need to be repeated every year before people stop being this stupid. Teams have different strengths and weaknesses. There are also many different factors that go into every game. If we knew the outcome of everything and every team against each other based on how they performed against similar teams then we wouldn't even need to watch the game now would we?

Please just f****** stop it

I'm game. I guarantee you that my defense will not be antiquated. You can support Pelini all you want, but that same team that torched us in week one was just beat by Arkansas, a team that hadn't won an SEC conference in two years!

It's not like Pelini has never faced Leach before; he has and lost both times. He clearly knew what he was dealing with and didn't adjust. This crap about not having film is just that. Good news is that we got that loss out of the way so move forward. As I said before, adjust scheme and get past Florida and things get interesting.
