No, they went after the money. Some people value money over everything else. And who knows, maybe Greedy gives up a touchdown to Auburn and we lose so don't tempt fate. I just hope IF they ever run out of money they survive because some folks think money is everything.

Devin White went No. 5 overall and signed for $29M, so staying wouldn't likely have increased his first NFL contract much, and injury would risk hurting it. No regrets.

Greedy went second round, so staying might have let him work his way into the first round and earn more. The difference in money can be significant (for comparison, White signed a $29M deal; Greedy $6.4M), so it may have been wise for Greedy to stay. Maybe regret, but likely not.

White's rookie contract is reported as a 4 year, $29,315,814 contract, including a $19,340,592 signing bonus, $29,315,814 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $7,328,954. In 2020, White will earn a base salary of $1,827,537.

Greedy's rookie contract is a 4 year, $6,458,676 contract with the Cleveland Browns, including a $2,717,220 signing bonus, $3,505,796 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,614,669. In 2020, Williams will earn a base salary of $788,576.

Either one of those is too much for me to risk losing out on because some fat arse lineman from Arkansas fell on me and crushed my knee while I was playing another year for free.

White? Ahsolutely. He would have gone down as an absolute timeless lsu legend and he knows it, and been a part of what he wanted to build. I feel for him and I know he wanted to stay super bad but was likely strongly told he was making the wrong decision to stay. I'm convinced someone had to talk him into moving on.

Greedy? No. Dude wouldn't even play the bowl when we needed him badly. Dude doesn't bleed PnG.

Greedy made more money over 4.3 million his first year out of college more than the average grad makes in a lifetime

Those holding bachelor's degrees earn about $2.27 million over their lifetime, while those with master's, doctoral, and professional degrees earn $2.67 million, $3.25 million, and $3.65 million, respectively.

Both Devin and Greedy do not regret forgoing their senior year to set themselves up for a lifetime.

I’m sure they wished they could have been a part of 2019 teams success.
But hey they rich so there’s that.

Our corners were so good, having Greedy back would have been a small improvement.

basically putting fulton in the nickel over KAry Vincent

queen did an excellent job taking over the reins from White... we would have had better leadership and prob better stats instead of going through the growing pains of the defense earlier in the season...

Devin yes, Greedy no. Devin really wanted to stay, but even I would have told him to go. Greedy had far more family concerns and there was no way possible he would stay, even if he was projected as a later draft pick

Hot take: Greedy might have been the third best corner on the team.

Devin White got a $19.3 million signing bonus.

Greedy got a $2.7 million bonus.

I'd guess they're pretty damn happy with their decision.

Life isn't just money. Still, if given the chance to do it over again, they both still probably go pro. The money is just too much to turn down and risk injury. But they'd be lying if they didn't have some regrets missing out on the Perfect Season. You don't get that many chances in life to be a part of something that special.

They made the right call, but it doesn't mean it doesn't suck at little bit to miss out on immortality.

Having Greedy back probably wouldn’t have made that great of an impact due to the CB play we had. Patrick Queen did a nice job in White’s position but could of played in one of the outside spots. The main benefit of having D. White back would have been The media not questioning the LSU defense and once we were number 1, it would have never been lost.

Devin White has $29,315,814 reasons for an average annual salary of $7,328,954. The deal, which is fully guaranteed, included a signing bonus of $19,340,592

Greedy Williams has $6.5 million reasons including $4.1 million guaranteed

of course not, but White’s money is beyond life changing. You must jump at that chance.

Season would have been boring with them on the team. Defense would have been improved so more opportunities to score. Games would never have ever been in doubt.

Not his job to twist arms. He should help players make the best decisions and if that is to head to the NFL, he should support it.
