What is the Deal with Noot?
lm not sure, he got to pitch Sunday but I didnt see every pitch. I thought they stopped using him midweek so that we could use him more on weekends but I think they just kinda gave up on him until this past Sunday because of injuries and guys not lasting very long

That's the first time I have ever seen him do that.
same here - my memory is totally unreliable, but this stuck me as odd = like a loud fart during a prayer

What is the problem with some of these freshman pitchers? They were great before college, and now they walk 6 and hit 3 every game. It's the same distance from the mound to home plate.
I'd rather see the other team hit them, at least we have a chance to make an error or get them out this year, but no defense for a walk or hit by a pitch.
Rizy to me has been a head scratcher this year.

It's not his first game, should have improved. Skip use to say "pressure bursts a pipe". He couldn't handle it.

We need strike throwers for next year.
This. I think JJ made the mistake of bringing in all high velocity pitchers and thinking he could make them strike throwers. Result has been a bunch of 95+ mph ball fours and hit batters.

Jay basically said as much after the game last night.
Good. Ive been hoping for this for a few weeks now. If he develops just a little, he should easily be in our rotation next season IMO

I couldn't be a baseball head coach, I don't have the patience for it. I'd be walking to the mound after that terrible first inning of pitching while yelling what the f---, dude? You puttin' up more hits on these batters than our batters get in an inning. Aren't you supposed to be a pitcher? Give me the frickin' ball!

I saw the highlights Sunday but not the game, was noot really bad?
Noot looked horrible. I guess there's a reason he hasn't been playing. Curious as to what the hell happened with him. If it's not injury related, man did be regress. Same goes for Cooper Williams.

I’ve been rooting for Noot since he highlighted that pitching class with Shores and missed 2023. I think he got all of about 1 inning in 2024, but it looked like he was going to be a contributor after 2025. Unfortunately, he’s effectively throwing batting practice this year, they were really crushing his pitches this weekend.

And Rizy
Yep. Was hoping he'd transition into a Chase Shores like role out of the pen. Add him to the regression list. Sad.

Ricken was as nervous as the proverbial whore in church; you could readily see it on his face....solid red and sweating akin to a Trojan! These kids haven't learned how to shut out all the extraneous crap and to throw the ball down the corridor leading to strikes! A total loss of the ability to stay mentally in control!

What do all these struggling pitchers who have forgotten how to throw strikes have in common………ny

Seen it a few times, it’s been in similar circumstances. Like multiple walks/hop in a row.
This time the poor kid looked like he was about to cry. Almost felt bad for him for a very brief nanosecond

push him to 75-80 pitches this weekend
What if he walks 5, hits 3 batters, throws three WPs and gives up 12 runs before he reaches the 75 pitch count?
I started the season on the Paz bandwagon, but he hasn't improved a lick since SEC play began.
