it was like watching lsu's last NC game under les miles. i was shocked that we had no game plan and refused to make adjustments. it made saturday's game hard to watch and i am still somewhat unsettled - those emotions were resurrected.

I thought I had permanently suppressed that memory but I knew I had seen a game like that before.

I did not watch the game, but thought the same thing. Is Kirby the next Les Miles?
Seems he thought to just show up and win without actually game planning.

Georgia didn’t play as bad as the score indicated at least offensively. They didn’t score in the red zone a few time it could’ve been more competitive.
Defensively Bama did take them to school no doubt.

at least UGA had > 100 rush yds & got 30 first downs. IDK if we'll ever see a more painful game than 2012 NCG

Yes he is literally Les Miles 2.0 yes his offense is a little more modern. But no where near it needs to be to compete and beat Alabama. They just don't have any explosion.

That was just the first rodeo
I hate to see what Smart comes up with in a potential rematch

Even if he didn't, I think his team bought in to all the talk going on the week before the game. It's Georgia's year, Bama doesn't stand a chance, etc. Kirby failed to have his team as focused as they should have been.

8:30 seconds left in 3rd quarter Jan 9, 2012
The point in time my hope of Miles' adaptability in a game shriveled up like a raisin.
If not surrounded by concrete walls, I would have head butted one of them. I adapted!

Georgia had a dominant defense all season. So I understand not wanting to panic and change your approach just because Alabama was getting some points. But once they ripped off 24 in the 2nd quarter Kirby had to know his approach wasn't going to work in this game.
Young is a great QB. But he hasn't been terrific under pressure. LSU and Auburn decided to bring the house on many occasions. Consequently, each team had a chance to beat Alabama. Georgia SHOULD have just as good, if not better, athletes than LSU and Auburn. But just rushing 3 run stuffers and playing zone behind it isn't going to beat Alabama. They had to take some chances to keep the game close because their QB isn't good enough to take over a game offensively.

Idk why, but going into that championship game I wasn’t nervous at all because I just knew we were getting blown out

No, Les Mikes beat Saban three times.

LSU threw a completely different D at Bama. A D we hadn’t played all year. Bama had no film on it and they never really adjusted.
On the other hand Bama had a season’s long library of Ga. tape, They had Ga. nailed.

What’s even crazier is that Smart made a living defeating LSU gameplay and turns around to run a similar offense at UGA. He is not very Smart

Basically, Georgia looks like what Georgia has been for at least the past 20 years or so - hell, arguably since 1980.

Not really. Georgia blew nice halftime leads against Alabama their last 2 big games. They got stomped Saturday.

No, Non-Special K doesn't like grass...

I have actually been hoping for weeks that this would happen, and then Georgia would kick their arse in the NC game. The melt of AL fans after winning the conference championship game only to lose to the same team in the NC just feels like it is owed to the gumps.
