I'm going cautiously optimistic after the extreme let down last year. Hoping for an 8 or 9 win season. Anything better than that and I'll be ecstatic.

Lol no, are you crazy?
We should be pleased if we win 8 games.

Good Quarterback play is gonna be key as well as if the O-Line stays healthy and meshes early. If both happen, I like our chances to be better then expected. New Years 6? Probably not, but there is a ton of talent on the team. How we show up against FSU will tell the story of the season

It’s going to come down to the OL play this year. Lot of guys that haven’t played together on that line. If Davis can get them playing well, I say 8 maybe 9 wins. LB is concerning and I think our depth in the secondary is too. Hopefully we don’t have a bunch of injuries like the last 2 years.
I don’t think we will be unprepared or outcoached like the 16 yrs.

I feel confident that there will be improvement, more discipline, and they will be better prepared. That may not turn into wins immediately, but it will eventually. If they go 8-4 or 9-3 this year, I will be pleased with the direction this staff is taking the team.

I think we’ll see some better consistency week to week, solid and potentially exceptional qb play.
Much better running game.
I still have questions about defense but admittedly, I’m unfamiliar with player and coaching.

About 2 years ago. Kelly has nothing to do with the schedule

UCLA added a game before we played them last year, I'm pretty sure they moved one of their rent a wins to game 1.

Not really. I’ve been burned 2 years in a row and we have a whole new roster made up of guys that we know nothing about. I have zero expectations and I’m fine with that. I feel like our discipline will be better and we will have a capable offense but not elite. We have talent at skill positions that is promising but if the running game doesn’t get going behind the OL I have no confidence in it might not be pretty. The defense has a secondary that has never played together and honestly I dont know what they can do. Our front 7 might be the strength for the first time in a while which is nice.

I don’t see how that’s possible with one bye week for everyone

Not sure but UCLA did it. I guess both teams would have to agree and the bye weeks would not be affected? Honestly dont know.

No doubt the Tigers have talent….the Tigers have always had talent…..hopefully, with the new staff, the intangibles will come in to play….like desire, mental toughness and player development. Then 8-10 wins will be possible. I do not feel that all this is not like turning on a light switch but more of a development situation. Geaux Tigers.

You guys really need to adjust your expectations about football. We are seeing it with baseball, just because you improve your coaching staff doesn’t mean they’re going to turn things around overnight.
They’ll be better, but there will be a lot of frustration still.

I’m done getting my hopes up for LSU athletics.

Culture change does not come easy. Kelly is all business from day one. You’re either going to commit & work for the common goal or have the opportunity to go on down the road.
A lot of work has been done this off season. In the weight room and classroom. I cannot remember a team running two minute offense on day one of spring. It’s now a year round program. Forget spring break or fall behind.
This year we should certainly be competitive, but not championship caliber. Hope I have enough time left to watch the development & win one more big one. It is only a matter of time.

Yeah but also felt that way about baseball. Even more so. So…

Totally different vibe and atmosphere around the program.
No, I really have no idea what we will see on the field. I am not poopooing what is going on but I just have no idea what to expect relative to the other teams we play.
We will have to come out of the gate swinging first game. At least most all of the pieces are in place already and have time to practice and adjust.
Hoping for 15-0 and expecting 8-4.

Tell me how good the 8 best Olinemen are and I'll tell you what kind of season they'll have.

I’m not expecting a miracle for a while.
