You had 5 fricking seasons with a shot clock and three point line to accomplish what Pete did in 3 seasons (NOT EVEN COUNTING HIS FRESHMAN POINTS) 83 game with no three point line and YOU COULD NOT GET IT DONE!!!!

SHUT THE frick UP!

Pete's record needs to be a category to itself...

It's pathetic they were going to try and buy their way into a postseason tournament at 14-19 overall to get a 5th year player who is taking advantage of a 1 time rule to break a career scoring record held by someone who played for just 3 years.

Pathetic

It's rather obvious he isn't remotely close to Pistol Pete for all the reasons posted. 3 vs 5 years, shot lock, 3pt line, 14-19...all reasons why Pistol deserves the record.

But the Director of the CBI literally admitted that part of the reason his team didn't get an invite was so he wouldn't break that record. If that were your kid, every last one of you would be losing your shite if the CBI Director said what he said.

Any great scorer of his generation is gone to the NBA after a year or two. He was stuck in college for 5 years and he still won’t get a nba shot.

Just imagine someone like Cam Thomas playing for 5 years in college. Pete’s record would be broken.

Isn’t his dad his head coach? Why didn’t they feed him the ball every trip down the court in their last game so he could beat the record?
Seems like there is blame to go around.

( Very glad he didn’t break the record!)

eels cheated, played in like 60 more games than Pete with the possibility to score 1 more point on every shot with the 3 point line.

61 more games against lower-tier opponents with a shot clock and a three-point line.

The only reason Detroit Mercy would have gotten any tournament consideration is for the publicity of him breaking the record. It wouldn’t have been on their own merits.

I'm not looking it up, but I wonder how many free throws he missed in his college career?

The kids dad was the coach of the team and he came up 4 points short of the record. So technically, the dad could have fed him the ball every time in the last game till the records was broken, but instead, he should be mad at the CBI director?
