Every QB who played under Kiffin was a “dude”. This will be everyone’s chance to see if one can be a “dude” without Kiffin (or his OC orchestrating).
Dart's first year at Ole Miss he got all offseason to practice and still threw 11 ints in 13 games averaging 228 a game at 8.2 ypa in 13 games.
Chambliss came in the summer, was a backup so got backup reps, and only threw 6 passes the first 2 games of the season. So essentially he threw for 3878 yards and 21 TDs to 3 ints in 13 games as a starter. That's an average of 298 ypg. They all ran pretty well year one, but the other two QBs combined for 5 rush TDs while Chambliss had 8 himself.

Had to be someone like Heupel who's still mad Kiffin raided SL from him. Those quotes on media day were not joking either. He was being serious about people pelting Kiffin. Someone should throw Ozempic at Heupel when that game is played.

Going from DII up to this level is a massive jump, so coaching development definitely plays a huge role in unlocking that potential.

Why wasn’t the coach who said this identified? If it’s a true quote let’s hear the source, he’s definitely good but this wreaks of Lane hate.

Kiffin and Weiss were influential in his development. People acting like him coming to the team in the Summer is the same as a high school kid joining the team. This was a 5th year college player (D2 or not) and he went into an established offensive system with a ton of talent around him.
This isn't Burrow going into an archaic offensive system in 2018, or the plethora of young QBs that went into LSU's offenses under Miles.
Chambliss is extremely talented and a very smart player, but he also was blessed to get into a system that fit him to a tee. Weiss and Kiffin had a ton to do with his performance.
In the end, how much can be debated, but claiming Kiffin had little to do with his success is ridiculous.

The transformation of Trinidad, this was all Weis and Lane.
Remember when the short guy had Blitz packages named after US States? Then he ran out of states.
Much of the same with this season’s offense. Running the same play out of 6-8 different formations. Knowing what play to call, at the right time. Cant get here soon enough!

He will still be good, he learned a lot in a year playing really well against good teams at the end of the season. He also still has good playmakers around him (like Lacey), so let’s not pretend he is a one year/one hit wonder.

Absolutely, he was the head coach and offensive guru so you have to think at the very least if he didn't discover him he had to be the last say to sign off on him so no doubt.
My thought was always had the starter not gotten hurt - how long would Lane have gone before putting Chambliss in and would it have cost them a game or two with the other guy in there.
