Because she's insufferable.

It's actually so funny the way the racist clowns on this board are so offended each and every time they get called out. Crybabies. They love to hide their ugly faces.

I always find it funny when old and middle aged white men come on here and claim not to be a bigot because they "love Shaq".
The love for many of the Black athletes at LSU is predicated on whether that athlete "stays in line" with what those types believe he or she needs to stay within.
I think it's fine that many guys don't watch the WNBA. But some of the descriptions of Reese I've seen in this thread are WAY off base. It lets me know that most of the critics in here are not actually watching the games. Lazy..............? Unskilled...................? Missing layups................? Insufferable................? Perhaps to those who want their female athletes to be demure.
Reese is a great role model for all the young girls who follow her faithfully. At each game, you can see the masses of kids who are waiting just to see her and possibly get her autograph. She has THE LARGEST social media following of any athlete in the league, which lets you know she has a large presence among young people. I think she was awesome at LSU and she's been awesome in the pros....................................and now she's on the verge of winning a WNBA championship in her THIRD SEASON. Even before all the other ladies who were drafted ahead of her (who should not have been anyway). The other side of this, is the love that Caitlin Clark gets from SOME in our fanbase. That lets you know what this is all about. The KKKaitlins love her for one reason only, because most aren't even women's basketball fans.
But it's okay. We understand. The rest of the LSU faithful will continue to root for Reese, Flau'je, and Aneesah for as long as they continue to make us proud on next level. Geaux Angel! Bring home that championship this week!

I cannot express to you fully how little I care, or will ever care, about women’s basketball. Men that watch it, I find repulsive.
Do you watch ANY womens sports consistantly?

Why does she get so much hate?
Because she is unapologetically herself and leans into the villain role but at the first sign of adversity, she cries victim.
You can’t be both.

It's astounding to me the number of people on this board who either can't articulate their point of view or are simply too lazy to do so.
Then you clowns get upset when others don't buy your argument or understand what you're trying to say but I'm like....YOU DIDN'T MAKE AN ARGUMENT. YOU DIDN'T EXPLAIN ANYTHING.
And to the ones like the OP who asks for reasoning, well if someone like me takes the time to detail exactly why I don't like Angel Reese and why I don't watch the WNBA, then the response is "I'm not reading all of that."
Frick it. I guess we'll just stick to typing out one or two sentences and calling each other names.

It's not that I hate her. I just don't care!

Why does she get so much hate?
Upon beating Iowa in the NC game, when interviewed on the court Angel Reese said "...this is for little girls who look like me." Bc we all know black girls have struggled to be accepted and win in the game of basketball.
So I was done at that point.

1. She is an insufferable black woman that plays the race wars game because she’s too stupid to not get caught up in that charade. 2. She plays women’s basketball which I’m sorry to say is the worst sport ever created. If number 1 wasn’t true then sure we would want the best for her. But since it’s number 1 and 2, Angel Reese is as beloved here as a dental appointment is. I’m not afraid to say it, but half of this dumb arse message board is.
Bingo

People usually hate winners. Lovable losers like Clark are more popular.

The short answer is that Angel Reese positioned herself to be viewed as a racist by being anti Caitlyn Clark. It's pretty much a binary issue that defines which group of people hate you. As you can tell, it is even more important than her being a Tiger and winning a championship.
The WNBA is toxic. Half of the fans are the uber liberal, pro lesbian, anti-white group and get very energized by that topic. It's a big part of why they show up and pay attention to the league. The other half hate that group, love Clark and Sophie, and will die on that hill. It's a big part of why those people show up and pay attention to the league.
I think Reese REALLY missed the boat from an opportunity standpoint by choosing the side that she did.
If Angel Reese had embraced and defended Clark instead of joining in with the mob of the racists and lesbians who openly hate Clark she would have been viewed as a hero type. Then she could have been outspoken and unapologetic about who she is (heterosexual, tough, competitor, dirty player, etc.) she might be the #1 personality in the WNBA.
Imagine if she had created her image to be similar to a black Sophie Cunningham. She has the goods to do it. She likes to do the photoshoot thing. Loves to wear the makeup and the eyelashes. Loves to be in the spotlight. Great player. Really has the talent of getting people to pay attention to her.
I think she'd be the most popular player in the league right now.

If you are going to watch a bunch of racists dribble a ball, might as well just watch the men's version. At least they are actually good at the sport.

Angel and Clark got along well as teammates for Team USA in the recent World Cup. They are both highly competitive on the court, similar to how Larry Bird-Magic Johnson were back in the day.
Clark is very unlikeable because of how she constantly flops, complains about calls, and demeanor on the court. If Clark was black, she would be vilified for her behavior.
I also find it funny how Angel is villainized for the "can't see me" gesture toward the white girl, Clark. But Angel only did the gesture because Clark had done it in the game prior against Angel's friend, Hailey Van Lith. We all know why it was OK for Clark to taunt Van Lith but not for Angel to taunt Clark.

At no point has she ever been "anti Caitlyn Clark". She trash talked her in the championship game, and people villainized her for THAT.

The league is NOT toxic....................................The KKKaitlyn Fans are toxic and there's a reaction to THAT. They are people who never watched the league and STILL don't watch it, other than to watch her (lose). Most of the white male fanbase of hers, doesn't even watch the game.

Actually, it was CLARK who should've defended Reese against all the hate and vitriol she got JUST for trash talking her. But she didn't until recently. But it hasn't actually hurt Reese's popularity, as evidenced by her popularity right now.

You can NOT be serious with that quote.^^^^^^^^^

She’s always had a, look at me entitled attitude. It started when she obviously had some jealousy towards CC that came across as racist, much like some of the other black WNBA players. It’s very off putting. I can appreciate what she’s done for LSU but the hate she gets is self inducing. If she just went out, played, and took care of business, she wouldn’t get as much if any hate.

This is a great example of my point.
You see this only in one direction. Clark is bad. Angel is good. "white girl" "If Clark was black", etc.
It's a very binary issue. There are two sides to this coin. And, it's the answer to the OPs question.
This is very important to you and you will die on this hill.
