Angel Reese in WNBA finals w chance to win a ring. Why does she get so much hate?

Never understood this. Yes, she may be a polarizing figure personally but reality is
- She helped bring LSU wbb back to relevance and won a natty here.
- Just won dpoy and if she continues on this statistical streak, could set all kinds of records for rebounds and double-doubles
- Has a big social media and online presence and has always represented the school well - which increases LSU’s visibility.
- is loved by Shaq, Kim Mulkey and others.
I don’t want to go straight to the seemingly obvious reason (starts with an “r” and ends in “ism”). But can someone please help me understand what other reason there is for her to get so much hate? She should be celebrated for what she is doing and has done at LSU.

Seems like you answered your own question.
She gets a decent amount of hate from sports fans overall due to her personality and the missed easy shots that garner offensive rebounds.
I don’t have any problems with her and support her. hope she wins and does well. I will call out bs when it occurs though and she has plenty of bs.

If she was awarded greatest woman basketball player to ever live, won every title ever, and carried out of the stadium with people bowing, it would still register 0.0 on my radar.
I cannot express to you fully how little I care, or will ever care, about women’s basketball. Men that watch it, I find repulsive.

Say what you want about the missed easy shots, but being a consistently great rebounder requires a ton of effort. She plays hard on a consistent basis. It’s difficult for me to find fault with a professional athlete who plays the game the way it should be every night —with heart and desire.

Dude why is this so hard to comprehend?
1. She is an insufferable black woman that plays the race wars game because she’s too stupid to not get caught up in that charade.
2. She plays women’s basketball which I’m sorry to say is the worst sport ever created.
If number 1 wasn’t true then sure we would want the best for her. But since it’s number 1 and 2, Angel Reese is as beloved here as a dental appointment is.

Yep! My wife’s best friend played ball in college and is a big WNBA fan. She can’t stand Reese! She says she has a shitty attitude, lazy, always complaining to the refs, jogs up and down the court, throws up clumsy unathletic shots and her defense isn’t as good as they say it is.
