Yeah that’s a no brainer. It’s hard when you try to do these list because of all the older football players that the younger generation just don’t know about and that’s no fault of them.

Players like Eric Hill(LB), Leonard Marshall(DT), Roy Winston(LB), AJ Duhe(LB) just to name a few and they’re many more.

Marquise Hill definitely deserves one of those DL spots.

Linebacker is tough. Devin White is the clear choice at one spot but Beckwith, Minter, Sheppard, and Jones were all recent greats that haven't been mentioned.

Tommy Casanova, LSU’s only three time, first team All American DB, has to be on this team.

No list is valid if “TOUCH DOWN” Tommy Banks is left of.

You can’t leave Josh Reed off WR list. Over 3,000 yards with almost 2900 of it coming in 2 seasons

The whole 19 top 3 WRs are the best 3 we ever had and we had them all in one year. Obviously Marshall won’t be considered though because he was over shadowed by the other 2 but he really was a beast. My top 3 I guess would be Chase,Jefferson, and Reed

Missing some old timers and medium timers.

Defensive line you need to consider:

Henry Thomas
Leonard Marshall
Chad Lavalais

Linebacker:

Michael Brooks
Eric Hill

Kyle Williams was a 1st Team All SEC. 2nd Team All-Pro. 6x Pro-Bowler

quote:

He was only a RS Sophomore when he left for NFL which puts it into perspective how much more dominating he would've been if he stayed.

So he was at LSU 3 years instead of 4.

And I like brockers but you can’t deny Williams Resume is better and he was probably better.

He's only better in your eyes because he stayed longer to have a bigger impact. Brockers impacted the game much more than Williams did in his single season at LSU. That entire DL was NFL players but when Brockers left all their production dropped off.

Brockers is the #1 reason that defense was probably the best LSU ever had. He made the entire defense better including Honey Badger. He could not be moved. He stood out on a defense that would have nearly 11 future NFL players.

My first season of tickets was 1958...with the ball in his arm Cecil Collins was the best...what a waste of talent..sad.

Cecil Collins was everything Fournette was supposed to be, but he cut his career short with foolishness. That guy had the talent to supplant Faulk…

Eh, define “recent.” 2000-2019 is the most successful 20 year period in LSU history, so it makes sense that most of your best players would be recent (compared to the teams from the 50’s or 70’s).

It’s also incredibly hard to imagine players from that era in today’s game.. which is exhibited by the fact that most people use 11 personnel for their template.

I do think you have to include Billy Cannon, though.

That and he was better had a better NFL career.

We had 38 sacks in 2011 and 35 in 2012 with 1 less game.

We had 91 TFL in 2012 and 106 in 2011 with one more game.

There was drop off and Brockers is a great player, but it’s not like we fell off a cliff without him.
