It’s funny seeing them now finally bitch about the state of CFB.

Thought the rest of us were just bitching for no reason. Well now that they’re finally having to deal with it like the rest of us, they see how chaotic this sport has become.

I have zero sympathy for them.

While Saban will go down in history as the GOAT the reality is that his constant money grubbing started the sport down this path that will only end in a NFL developmental league and/or football teams being only loosely affiliated with their sponsor schools - maybe only licensing the name and trademarks.

Coaches started making $5M+ per year, and players started wondering where was their part. Now that the resulting chaos is at its near peak Saban took the parachute out of the plane he built.

There will be a few more years of this attempt to disguise the sport with the facade of its traditional history. But once schools demand rules on this portal and transfer stuff that sounds a lot like a collective bargaining agreement - you know the kind the professional players have with their employers.

They surely weren’t complaining when Bear Bryant could recruit 200 players a class.

Welcome to not winning it all every season. Cry me a River.

Awesome.

Can't wait to see this cheesedick have to say strugglewin after they play USF and Vanderbilt

I hope BK doesn't call off the Tigers until late in the 4th. He needs to know this fanbase needs some retribution for the last 15 years.

I'm just waiting for them to bitch about having to play Tennessee every year over the next couple of years. That will be the final salty tear to lap up.

This reality is starting to set in for Bama: It wasn’t you. It was him.

I think that’s part of it but the conference commissioners, network executives, and the NCAA share just as much blame, if not more, for the current state of this sport.

We don’t need 16/18 team conferences, we don’t need a 12 team playoff. There was no reason to even let players transfer in the first place bc of Covid but whatever you did and decided to leave it for whatever reason.

CFB was successful and fine the way it was. Then people like Greg sankey came into the fricking picture. And instead of maintaining, what was already a great and unique product, they try to squeeze every dollar they possibly could out of it and have helped ruin the sport in the process.

Imagine them having a losing streak to LSU or TN and pretending that they don't care.

You know, it is fun to watch this in real time but in the end I really don't truly care.

What I do care about is that LSU benefit from it.

It would be a crying shame for this meltdown to occur and we not get anything out of it.

That’s how they were from ‘03-‘07. Then when they beat us in ‘08 you would’ve thought cancer was cured.

Gaytors are the same way.

correct, and I'll be done with it.

My emotional attachment to college football was huge, but has drastically faded over the last few years, with NIL and the portal. The sport is quickly becoming unrecognizable, and it's a shame.

Sure, the players are getting cash, so good for them. But the game I loved is just about gone. Players are basically free-agent mercenaries every year, jumping from school to school, with no one-year transfer sit out required. I don't know half my players, and consequently there's no emotional connection to the team.

It's sad to see.

This is tough news for us Alabama football and North Carolina basketball fans. At least we have LSU baseball.
