Aleah seems tired.

Every routine she did was rough, her vault had a giant hope, a fall each on beam/floor.

But LSU missed an opportunity to get a quality mid 197 road score. You can't waste these road opportunities, you need quality road scores for RQS. They are going to throw out the 198 we had last week because its the highest score

Ballard and KJ both scored in the 9.7s and Finnegan fell on floor.

That right there was the meet, though it could have been won on beam.

Ah well. It happens.

Actually we looked great on beam except for Aleah. That 9.925 for Jocelyn was ridiculous with that huge bounce out on the first pass. I would have put Livvy in on floor and kept Aleah out. They were just okay on vault (to our standards). God on bars except Konnor. Floor was terrible. But we did score over 197 for an away score and that’s good. Just need to keep plugging away.

Just finished up. Definitely some home cooking scoring by the judges but regardless, it was an off night for the team overall. Definitely got some things to iron out, a very surprisingly poor meet from Aleah.

Well they don’t pull up to the meet in a plane.

I would generally agree; but with the way score are going generally agree, you are not going to be able to count anything lower than a 197.5-197.6; which we haven’t even touched on the road.

I am pleased, however, that beam did well today, so that’s something. After that floor rotation they could have just totally let it go.

As far as cores go, I believe on bars we only had two scores above a 9.9, which I wouldn’t count as good relative to us (or other teams in our tier) and only one on vault which was absolutely abysmal. So that’s what I mean by subpar rotations for those.

Yep. At least it’s not a rotation that we really need to be super concerned with - just an off night.

Well I think some of our bar scores were a little low balled but I get what you’re saying. I’m super pleased with beam and who would have though 2 weeks ago we would be saying that’s our best rotation. If we keep that up we can definitely win it all this year.

I didn't get to watch, was it just tough scoring? That's a really rough score.

Does anyone remember didn’t aleah have the same mistakes two years ago at Missouri? Remember Missouri is her “home” crowd

Meet was lost tonight on floor. There was obvious home cooking at the end. For example Haleigh got underscored on her beam routine even before Aleah goes. Aleah basically has to have a flawless routine because of the score the last Mizzou girl got which of course was over scored. If LSU would have a just their normal floor routine they would have won. I used to get all up in arms on losses to inferior teams but not anymore. Very hard to win on the road against a decent team. You just hope their inflated scores boost you up

Aleah will bounce back, but she may need to rest a meet or two to get fully healed physically and get her confidence back with some good practice sessions. She was in Olympic tryouts earlier this year and and combined with the training process she may just be worn down. Sometimes even the best athletes go through slumps.

One other factor may be that she and Sarah lost their father a couple years ago and she may have been dealing with the emotions of not having him there in her home state to watch her. I bet she finds her peak performance level again within a month and the Tigers will be roaring into post season.

If the first two Mizzou floor scores were 9.9 Sierra Ballard should have been at least the same. One of them had a huge hop backwards on the first pass and still got a 9.9. K. J. also had as good a routine as the two Missouri girls but would not have had a 9.9 either even is she had not stepped out.
