Anyone on this board know what was up with Kaliya’s beam score? It was better than Amari’s and Konnor’s - and I do not believe she missed any composition credit or connections. I can only think rhythm deduction, but those are so rarely taken…
I was at the meet - was anyone watching on tv and heard Jay’s interview? If so, did he say anything about Kaliya’s beam and his inquiry
The scores for Lincoln and McClain make no sense; but maybe together they even out (though I did think kaliya would be at least 9.9)
I know Valeri’s reputation. However, this, I think may have more to do with Hezly taking a small break post - Olympics that led to a big growth spurt. It’s clear that she is fatigued in her routines as she learns her skills in that body. However, that can be just as hard to overcome physically and mentally.
I assume there is no actual story here - other than it’s time for her and her boyfriend to be in the same city?
I wouldn’t say that it is up and coming necessarily ; her daughter is Sydney Johnson-Scharpf who elite and competed for Florida pretty consistently on floor and beam before she tore her Achilles and she also coached Charlotte Booth while she was in the US elite program.
I for sure did not have that on my bingo card…anyone have any details about it?
Speaking of which…any word on good transfers we good get - I think with the size of our departing roster we could be an attractive place for some high profile transfers.

My guess with emjae is that she realizes if cal couldn’t do it last year, then they weren’t coming anywhere near it after this year and she wanted to go to a program that could. Social media would indicate she is close to Selena which is interesting given the whole ucla thing.
I think others who have seen me post on this board know I am not shy from criticism in the name of it being too harsh on athletes (specifically because in any other male sport that happens all the time; this is a high level and should be treated the same).

I will say, I knew it was going to be hard as soon as we got the number one seed and never felt good about it (even though that is also an amazing accomplishment). I think the girls should hold their heads high, though. That wasn’t a bad meet for them - it just wasn’t good though on the day. We can talk about the tenths lost on bars, the tenths left by Aleah on beam, and the tenths left by Konnor and Sierra on floor - but in no way wa that a complete melt down. It was a mediocre day in the day they couldn’t afford to be mediocre. And sometimes that happens. I am so proud of them for trying to fight - for Aleah hitting floor after this season and the. That beam routine. This has been a special two years and I am really proud of them, even if it didn’t end as we hoped.

I am hopeful that we can recreate lightning in a bottle over the next few seasons. And I think OU probably runs away with it if they have in night - when they are on the only two teams who have gotten close are us and FL. Utah was lights out as was ucla last night(ans we know very hard to replicate that two days in an row) and Missouri won’t really challenge on an even playing field.
It wasn’t even that bad of a meet - but Aleah gave away a tenth and they gave away about 3 tenths on bars and Sierra and Konnor gave away about 2.5 tenths between them
Edge to Michigan state with the last rotation; we need some help from Utah and UCLA or the best vault rotation anyone has ever seen.
So they will absolutely have to capitalize on floor and then they will have to actually land on vault. I think Michigan state runs away with this and flops in the finals. They gave away 3 tenths on landings on bars, and at least a tenth right there in the difference between Aleah and kylie
They are going to need to find some landings, make it through beam, and capitalize on the generous floor scoring, which should only get more generous as the night goes on.

It will probably, as for Florida, come down to vault.
I think that it has been debunked as fake when I saw it on one of the Facebook groups the other day
To add to this; we have the harder semifinal by far too. It should be basically a cakewalk for Florida and OU to make it out of theirs.
Michigan state may have had the meet of their lives a bit too early - and they of course benefitted from the ever rising beam scores…but I agree if anyone stumbles they are right there. This is the toughest one … so just glad they made it through.
I have never understood why they didn’t red shirt her - given her bouncy vaults and limited floor I think she had a counting score 3-4 times. It’s seems like a waste of her talent this year.
I was largely being facetious…but it is in fact not worse than their average - which is why I thought people might be downvoting you (of note, I don’t really get up or downvoting in any event, so it wasn’t me)
I think at one point Jay mentioned in a press conference she was ready to go on beam and floor as well, if needed
Yes, but the NQS isn’t their average.
I think the actual answer here is that it is, in fact, above their season average, though a tad lower than the last couple performances.
