Oh I see she went to the Konnor McClain school of half pirouettes
There are some rumours on twitter and reddit about lsu not competing at SECs due to illness of many in the team. Is it any accurate?
what are they taking on Chio's beam? I'm tired of this
Aleah is out of the bars line up tonight per virtius. Haleigh back.
My main concern on bars tbh is Aleah's dismount. It seemed like the change to the FTDB was the solution (and it looked like it in training videos), but that has not translated to competition yet. I don't think she has stuck one so far.
Yes, I do. A lot, actually. It's just not common so for the visiting team to be this favoured as it's been going tonight
Never in my dreams thought OU would be the overscored team in the PMAC ????
It's huge! But I can't believe they put the gogean leap in that routine. It's virtually impossible to hit.
I like Garrett's approach to the meet at Arkansas. And I also like how he gives more detail on whats going on at the gym and shares a little bit of his personal opinions on some things.

Wobble on the leap series. Almost fell on the acro series (totally crooked, barely was a layout step out and low chest). Wobble on the side aerial. That one was not the wrong score in the meet. A 9.575 seems fair.
Don't know why she keeps overrotating that wolf turn so much
Unless Zeiss cleans up her vault, I'm afraid Chase's full is a better option with how scoring has been going. Still, I think it's valid to test Zeiss' vault in competition and also Brock's 1.5. As for Victoria, the piked version of her vault didn't look that confortable at 101, so maybe she needs a little more time?
All her ring skills are a little sketchy, but I'm not sure if they were actually deducted tonight. 9.875 on floor with a slide and those two rings was way too high. Our floor scores were all over the place to be honest.
I don’t think it necessarily comes from a bad place, though. I too was a bit worried about KJ's and Alexis' statuses, as they are key contributors for the team.

Beard's situation honestly just makes most of the gymternet sad. We all know how amazing her beam work is, but it just hasn’t ever clicked in college. I was really hoping she’d hit last night to make a statement for herself.

About Lexi, it’s strange because her vault was looking pretty good at the intrasquads. I reckon the videos didn’t show her knees too much, but still... I’m hoping yesterday’s vault was just a fluke.

Pleasent surprises for me were Kaliya flaring that 1.5 out and Coen's gymnastics overall. Chio ofc was lights out on everything, as expected.

Edit: stocks went up for double full dismounts off beam!
Our floor is miles away ahead of everybody in terms of difficulty and execution. OU is boring AF on floor I'm sorry. And Aleah is coming for that national title as she should, best on floor all season.
Again, so shaky for absolutely no reason. We are dropping a 9.9.
Agree. Perfect other than that lean.

Edit: WTF
Two big routines to set up natty beam champ Konnor McClain
Yes, because the small stick is 0,05 to a 0,1. Form deductions are not seriously/consistently taken so you have no separation between the good and the great. Konnor's bars is so poorly rewarded in that context. She has a pristine swing but still has not found that dismount, so she'll only get 9.95s if a given judge tries to reward her outstanding work somehow.
Stick a routine that has no built-ins. The only true stick was Kiya's, but she gets deducted for form on her transitions from high to low to high.
Wishing Cowan's 'almost stick' is a turning point for us, like it has been for a lot of meets this season. Very lackluster so far unfortunately.
It seems some of our beamers have actually regressed, unfortunately. Also none were truly developed - Alexis came from UCLA with a side aerial on her beam routine and somehow they thought the standing front tuck was a better option. Beard has Christina Desiderio potential on that event and we know she's been healthy for a while now, but also was never really developed. It's hard, because other than Konnor and Haleigh, every routine on this lineup has a clear issue that has not been addressed when it should have (Kiya's leap series choice, Sierra's dismount mainly, etc.). You almost need a miracle to have a 100% hit lineup starting off of that on paper. Savannah brought a decent beam routine from Florida that also should have been cleaned up a little and would be great to go.

Regarding Cowan, she came in mostly for her bars, so she has always been good on that event. At least there Jay did a good job sticking to what she knows and not try to force, I don't know, a bail to hs on that routine. She had a full twisting DLO as a dismount and I'm super glad they dumped that too, in favour of something she can stick consistently.
problem is every night is kind of an off night
They really don't want to give us the big scores huh?
Yeah, that was very low in comparison to other routines.
We are now the only team that does not have to still go through beam, so that's great. But there were too many errors on that rotation. Not very competitive. Hope we can leave the nerves and go big now.
Aleah leads the all America second team on floor and I think she has done a decent job on vault given the circumstances (injury, changing her vault during season, etc.).

The beam and bars situation is, again, a 100% on the coaching staff.

She had issues with that triple series and/or the aerial this whole season. Some minor changes could have been made and I think she would have been just fine. It is not like changing a vault.

Sticking that bars dismount has been an issue since she got to college, so plenty of time to take action there.

Of course now might be too late, so we just hope for some good days from her (and not some Missouri days). It's unfortunate every year we get to postseason feeling like some changes could have been made regarding routine construction...
