Totally agree.
It’s a bit of a calculated risk because he doesn’t have the skins on the walls yet, not even a single skin yet, but I like Vitello.
Woodward’s hiring history would point to Mcdonnell or OSullivan or Scholssnagle

To me, Dan McDonnell is the most interesting, bringing a school that far north to Omaha 5 times ( most recently in 2019, the last normal season). The SEC schools that far north have not gone to Omaha in modern times, Kentucky - never and Missouri - 1964. Plus, he was an assistant at Ole Miss six years before becoming Louisville head coach, so he’s familiar with the SEC.

His skins on the wall are what he did as recruiting coordinator at TCU and Arkansas. O’Sullivan for sure has the higher floor than Vitello but I think the ceiling for Vitello has the potential to be higher than Sully. In my opinion he will end up being the better coach.
And also if LSU doesn’t go get him I believe A&M will and that would be a major problem.
