CPM has not been fired or retired....if he doesn't retire, he will be the coach until his contract is complete.

Godwin or Schlossnagle. Schlossnagle has proven himself taking several teams to Omaha.

In an interview earlier this year with lsusports.net, PM did not sound like a man that would finish out his contract. What better time than now

When the head coaching job opens. It will a coach that isn't listed. Yes it will. And not one of the coaches mentioned above can out recruit this guy in the south. In due time. In due time

Riser is fricking trash

Why do you think that

They’ve consistently been the 2nd & 3rd best team in the state. Doing more with less. Developing 2nd & 3rd tier recruits.

Those Omaha teams were built off the recruiting of a different guy on the list.

I would have to think that if Vitello comes here, he’s bringing Frank Anderson with him.

That's a very Captain Obvious post of you.

It's becoming more clear all the time that CPM will likely be leaving soon. He doesn't even have to be fired. At some point he may choose to retire.

I feel like the baseball program is stagnant in the same way the football team was under Miles towards the end of his time.

The longer we go without making a change the more we have what could have been. LSU won a natty 4 years removed of Miles?

I don't get this not going to leave alma mater stuff. People say this about the Texas Tech coach as well?

Sometimes prestige and opportunity can matter more than alma mater. Money can matter, but isn't always the deciding factor.

At some point you may even just be tired of the same place.

Some people say the Louisville coach wouldn't leave, but yet they also say he has a huge respect for LSU's baseball program. I don't get the people that say, "no way."

You start at the top and see what you can make happen. IMO, of course.

It is obvious he’s checked out, yesterday’s game was a perfect example. For some reason I don’t think he steps down at the end of the season (and or retires). I also don’t think Woody messes with him. Walking away now would admit defeat in my opinion.

True, but there is something to be said to becoming the Skip Bertman of your alma mater

That being said, Scott needs to turn over all the big rocks first, which seems to be his style

ETA- and I know Skip didn’t go to LSU. This is about being The Godfather of your alma mater program
