Your A team sucks. Just saying.

My list is more focused on recruiting coordinators to be honest.

I want someone who has a history of showing he can teach guys to swing the bat.

I feel like good recruiters and pitching coaches are much easier to find than true hitting coaches.

Any list that doesn't include Scott Brown and Derek Johnson is suspect at best.

You have to develop players, and particularly pitchers, at a top level if you're going to win national championships in college baseball. Johnson and Brown have been the best in the country at that over the past 15 years.

Also, Andrew Checketts from UCSB has to be on the list for that same reason.

Those Omaha teams were built off the recruiting of a different guy on the list.

That's absolutely inaccurate.
Vitello left, his recruits moved on, and then Schlossnagle went to three more College World Series.

Why not hire the guy that was Vitello's boss?
Schlossnagle, unlike Mainieri, is no Executive Head Coach. He gets his fingernails dirty, he drives himself to and watches summer tournaments, he coaches with passion, and he knows the recruiting area.

Plus, he has always thought of the LSU job as one of his dream jobs. He didn't want to follow Garrido at Texas (who would?), and he took a long weekend look once at Starkville and said no thanks. Can you blame him?
But the timing is right for LSU. This would be a solid hire for Woodward. I'll bet he knows all about Schlossnagle (TCU beat the Aggies in a College Station Super Regional in 2017).

If there is indeed an opening after this season, Tony Vitello would be my choice. And as Scott Woodward proved today, you never say “never” on his talent for hiring any coach he wants.

Vitello left and his recruits carried TCU to Omaha for another three years.

There are a lot of good candidates there but I would like to see an outside-the-box hire. I can’t offer a name but someone with some MLB experience and knows the college game. We don’t just need a coaching change but also someone that can get the fanbase excited enthused again.

All they have to do is win. You’re mistaking the governor not letting fans into the game for fans not wanting to go to the game. It would be a packed and rowdy stadium against Arkansas if it was allowed.

Yap, just win. MLB to college is pretty rare. I went over every CBB coaching staff this weekend. I remember one former mlb manger off hand and that was Eric wedge

LSU fans are becoming entitled little brats who think the baseball team is the Yankees.

Looks like you were arguing about a zoning volunteer in North Carolina that got fired for not addressing a voter as “Dr” at about around the same time

I was playing a round of disc golf today and a guy there had "Mainieri has to go" written all over his truck. The disdain for this coach has got pretty bad. I hope he moves on after this year.

For the record, when Chris Reid was on this board, he felt Mainieri would finish his contract 2024.

That was because I had some free time because I don't look into other posters' posting history in an attempt to win internet points, which is also very lame.

Just be sure we bring in completely new blood, with passion and baseball knowledge. I tend to lean to the Texas Tech or TCU coach....but I'm really not knowledgeable of all listed.
