What are we at 48/40 now?

Current count by position (47 total):
Infielders = 12
Outfielders = 8
Catchers = 6
Right Handed Pitchers = 17
Left Handed Pitchers = 4
Obviously overloaded number at Catcher right now.
Another LHP would be nice to have.
I counted Bianco, Beloso, and Leto as OF.

Blake Money just popped up on the roster for the Sanford River Rats and had a helluva start tonight. 4 IP, 2 BB, 6 K

A couple of these guys might want to realize they aren’t going to play. Most teams only keep 3 catchers.

Was thinking Doughty was a walk on

Still counts as a roster spot.
That does bring up a good point though. We can look at the list and pretty easily come up with the top 40, but you never know how the scholarship distribution may come into play and having to cut some guys loose or keep others that you wouldn’t expect.

I wrote a 40-man out this morning, at least through my own eyes. They will be able to get to 40 easily. And i can actually see them taking on 2-3 more kids(if not more) in the fall to fill holes.
I came up with 39 guys as 'favorable' keeps, and that included 16 RHP, and guys like Jobert who have taken LSU off of his social media.
So even that number will be trimmed down, i have to believe. When the dust settles i think they could be below that 40, looking to add at C, middle infield, and OF. Probably local guys or even walk on's that wont count against the scholarship numbers.
Or i could be totally off. But i think a bunch of guys will leave to seek full time starting roles.

So Tre Morgan not playing summer ball?

They will go into fall with 44 or 45 guys.

Probably. Wouldn’t be surprised if some left & some where added too, still.

Who do you have as your 40 and what kids do you see being gone?

Don’t want to post it yet. But the pitchers are going to be the hardest to pair down, more specifically the RHP. I think it’s really the only spot he’ll have to forcefully “process”.
I think on the hitting side, Gio & milazzo will be the most polarizing. Won’t be forced out but could leave for a more solid opportunity. I don’t think Beloso is back

Beloso can't beat anyone out for a position spot and he can't hit to even DH.

He can hit enough to DH. He didn’t this year, but 283 with 10 homers as a freshman and a left handed bat was good.
Which is the real Beloso?
