2011 LSU is NOT one of the 50 best teams to not win a title

According to a new article on ESPN.com that ranks the "50 best teams not to win a title." As I was scrolling through the list I expected to see 2011 LSU as a top 5 team but they didn't even make the list. I am not even a huge 2011 team guy. Our offense was miserable most of the season but our defense and special teams were absolutely special and more than made up for it until the national championship.

If memory serves, in 2011 we beat the following teams:
Big East champ at their stadium
Pac 10 champ on a neutral field
The SECE champ in their home state
The NC at their stadium
We went undefeated in the SEC
That 2011 team was a great team stocked with top nfl talent
ETA: that 1969 team we had was pretty good too.

LSU scored 40+ points 8 times in the regular season and also in the SECCG. They scored in the 30s 2 times. They scored less than 10 2 times (both games against Alabama).

Well that's retarded. Our resume that year was fricking amazing. Consider the source.

This is not true. It wasn’t great by any stretch but it was good and far from miserable outside of the two Bama games and the first half against Georgia. It was the perfect compliment to the great defense and special teams. They ran the ball with efficiency, rarely turned it over, and were nearly perfect in the redzone.

That performance on in the dome was worthy of tarnishing that team's legacy. It was that bad.

we had 10+ non offensive TD's. Not to mention how many times the defense or special teams set up our offense with a short field. We scored all those points despite our shite offense, not b/c of it.

The offense was much better than it is remembered. Jefferson was fricking awful in the post season though, and we couldn't could only do just enough in the GOTC to squeak out the win, so it's remembered as being terrible.

Ask anyone that played on 73 LSU team, they were as good as bama that year.

The Bama defense being pretty freaking incredible had something to do with that. This was before other teams were throwing the ball everywhere and Bama’s defense was built specifically to stop LSU’s power run game.

Well, I mean we crossed the 50 yard line once in the title game.
Had we been competitive, we would have been in the top 5 easily.

1969 is not on it either. But look who is on it - 1959 Ole Miss at #2. Billy Cannon cost them that title.

2019 Ohio State on that list is absurd. They finished 3rd and lost in the semi final to Clemson, who was also undefeated until they lost the Championship to LSU. If that Ohio State team is one of the best not to win a title, then that same Clemson team should be ranked ahead of them. That Clemson team isn’t in the list.

Even if you wanted to use this to tarnish the offense's efficiency in most of the games that year, it doesn't matter. The defense and special teams were so good that it took one of the best Bama teams two tries to beat us. 2011 LSU as a team is one of the best to play the game.

Until Jordan Jefferson was let back on the team, that 2011 offense was actually pretty good. Go back and watch highlights from the West Virginia game. Jarrett Lee was playing and then Les decided to let JJ back on the team and it probably fricked with Lee’s head. After that, Lee never looked totally comfortable because he knew Miles had Jefferson waiting to come in the minute he messed up.

The 1970 Dartmouth team finished 9-0 in the Ivy League of course and Number 14 in the Coaches Poll! LOL!
It's obvious that the 2011 LSU Team is a Top 5 team to never win the title. I would actually put them at number 2 behind the 2001 Miami Hurricanes.
