1. LSU’s comeback from the loser’s bracket in 23 was such a tough task making that much more incredible.
2. Throwing strikes is so crucial to success. (Obvious, I know)

Against a really really good wake forest team. And extras. And Morgan’s amazing play.

Our comeback vs Oregon State in 2017 was pretty cool as well. They were 58-4 before we beat 'em 2X.

Living and dying by the home run doesn’t play at Charles Schwab. You gotta pitch and play damn good defense.

To do it against a team that had some very good arms makes it even more incredible !

I was there for both of those runs in 2017, 2023. 2025 as well.

I genuinely hope this play will never be forgotten and will always be appreciated going forward. Everything hinged on that play. If they score, we are done.

The missus and I were there for those two games. I told her we could go to the first game we would lose then we could go sightseeing around Omaha the next day before coming home. Imagine our surprise. So we stayed the next day and won again. My wife decided we should stay for the Fla games but we were leaving for Maine on Wednesday already and just didn’t have time. She says it’s my fault we didn’t win 2017 lol.

I know I’m not the only one but me and everyone with me went absolutely fricking nuts.
Personally (and probably not more than everyone) more so than Tommy’s walk off.

And the Wake Pitcher that kept twitching like he was on meth

We had to play perfectly over the next 4 games to get a chance to win the damn thing. Good defense, timely hitting, and excellent pitching performances by our bullpen and secondary starter was our only shot. Looking back between Ack, Herring, Hurd, and Floyd if any of those guys don't have their performance we don't win the Title.
Then you add Pearson's defensive plays that saved two games, Morgan's play at the plate and it really was a team of destiny.

That should be on the Mount Rushmore of greatest single plays in LSU sports history

I guess technically LSU would have had two more ABs. So you don't 100% know it would have essentially ended the game. But with the way the game was going, and the way it ended up, yes, that play saved the season.
Along that same line, a defensive play that sometimes gets overlooked is Pearson's catch in the bottom on the 10th in Game 1 vs. Florida. Unlike the play vs. Wake Forest, if Pearson doesn't make that catch the game DOES end right there. The loss would not have ended LSU's season. But given the way game 2 turned out, you could make the case that if he doesn't catch that ball LSU doesn't win the CWS. EVERYONE in the park and watching on TV thought that was a game winning hit the second it left the bat

When you think of the CWS, you think of LSU.

2023 was so loaded they could handle the extra games. As a fan, it was such a great experience getting to watch LSU in Omaha seemingly every single day for a week and half.

Oklahoma has had some elite freshman pitching step up, and these guys weren't some top recruits by any shape of the imagination
Cord Rager finished the regular season with an ERA close to 6 and an SEC ERA north of 7
He has given up 3 ER in 3 starts going 19 innings in the NCAAT. He was just outside the Top 400 on PG rankings
Nick Wesloski had a decent regular season as a reliever, made 2 starts in the NCAAT and given up 4 ER in 2 starts going 12.2 IP. He was barely inside the Top 1000 at perfect game. He was the #140 overall player in TEXAS by PG.
Doesnt hurt when you get performances like that out of freshmen

I’ve watched a decent amount of this whole tournament, regional, super regionals and CWS and I can’t recall a single pitched ball going to the backstop.
