LSU games were not on every ESPN network channel like today

I was at that game, bad comparison, bc those same people — swapped into 2024 —- would’ve done exactly what people today do —- especially with yesterday’s weather condition. That game was hot….but not yesterday hot!

Plus...free parking on Campus...less people...less traffic.

Fyi...I went to the game and stayed until the end. I am paying for it today.

Cramps and my pee looks like orange Gatorade.

Gen Xer students were just different than these weak minded millennials and Gen Zers! Even the older Boomers were there.

That’s the one I was trying to remember; knew it was home opener vs a&m but wasn’t sure of the year. Hottest game I’ve ever been to (I wasn’t there Saturday.)

I was at both games (the '92 game and yesterday) and both were BRUTALLY HOT. Worst ever experienced.

Difference is, in 1992 I was a young, leaner 27 yr old. We were sitting in the top row of the northeast end zone. We dealt with it by taking the two 32 oz. concession drink cups we had quickly polished off, went to the bathroom and filled them up with tap water. Every half hour or so, we'd just pour it over ourselves, and went back to the bathroom and refillled those cups when we dried out.

That was the hottest game ever to me-- until yesterday. Now I'm almost 60 and heavier. I took refuge in the shade under the concourses after the 1st two drives, and went back to my seat just before halftime to find the rest of my crew gone.

A few minutes later I got a text directing me to seats on the east side, in the shade where they had found seats. The difference was night and day. Felt like 30 degrees cooler, AND there was somehow a nice breeze.

Many others did the same move.

It was hot but not as hot as this past Saturday. In '92 we snuck beer in w/ GF's purses and it was hot by the time we got to our seats. Of course we drank them anyway.

What a day! Was a dumbass student. Out there at 7:00 am to start grilling. Button-up long sleeve shirt, blue jeans and boots. Not to forget the handle of Seagrams that we hammered. Barely remember the game other than the magical play action fakes the A&M QB made. Hot as balls that day. Think it was also the opening day of dove season. After game hooked up with 2 buddies to go to my place in Tensas for a hunt - puked 10x on Hwy 61 and 65 on way up. Good times.

I was there in the student section. And had snuck in some Seagram’s 7. I was at the game yesterday. Both of these games were hot AF. I have no clue which one was worse….too much time has passed by since then.

1. The East supper and South Uppers aren’t there. The West Upper then was the old West Upper with the escalator.
2. LSU might have been in real over the air broadcast TV once or twice and maybe another time or two on ESPN.
3. So yeah people went to games and A&M was big contest and team.
4. Im sure there were idiots passing out from dehydration being to drunk on brown liquor, or aged fans in lesser health, but they probably didn’t bitch about it.
5. TD didn’t exist so you don’t know what we would have bitched about.
6. As I’ve said many times - you can watch the game with that device in your pocket anywhere in the world.

I went in the sweat. Hydrating myself with water and Ultras. I stayed until the whistle blew as I always do. But yesterday was just a boring game. I saw two guys asleep in the stands. Quite frankly with the umpteen TV timeouts, it moved rather slow. So I’m not going to bitch out our fans or lack thereof.

TV has killed football in person.

Key phrase. We went AFTER the game, not before.

Stadium also held 78,000 - not 102,000

I was there and that was the hottest game I’d ever been to. This weekend was right there although I drank way less alcohol than I did in 1992. LOL.

I was there. Hot as all get out. RB Robert Davis broke a long run that got the place jumping. It was one of the few highlights that day.

Televised LSU games used to be rare and were a big deal. Now all of them are on TV.

I remember watching this game as a kid in Grand Isle. There was some big hate for the Aggies back then.

I can’t remember which year, but 93 at A&M or 95 at A&M (maybe both) was the hottest I have ever been. No shade entire game and sat close to the Astroturf/track field.

95 hit 101 degrees but even though cooler at kickoff I still think 93 was it with sun beat down and being right next to the field and then temps went up after kickoff.
