Hallman was at least successful at Southern Miss. There was a reason to hire him. There was absolutely ZERO reason to hire O.

Agreed, worst hire in LSU history.

he's STILL not at .500. not even with his interim wins at USC and LSU. you can't make this shite up.

Everyone wanted a change because Miles was stubborn and stagnant....No one wanted O except Alleva. Not a Goddamn person who is an objective thinker and has been a football fan longer than 1 year should have been excited when O was hired.

Hallman was a much different disaster in a time where LSU football was very very low. After O, we will be begging for Hallman, Archer and Dianardo again.

This is much, much worse. LSU is in a different stratosphere now than it was when Curly was hired.

Which makes the hiring of Oregron that much worse. In 1991 LSU expectations were just to get back to winning, plus Hallman was actually a hot commodity, while Orgeron was supposed the program in the top 10 and certainly is not doing that.

Holy shite!
What an insightful revealing post that nobody here has ever posted........

The prose was flowery and to the point.

Please oh please continue in this vein, no one here has ever said anything like that!

This is revisionism, though. There were PLENTY of LSU fans that were fricking pumped for Orgeron when he was named interim. Not just because he wasn't Miles, but because they hoped he'd get the full time job because he is from here. It's become a cliche now, but there was many fans super excited that a local guy could potentially take the reigns.

I've been warning against that since the day he took the podium and all but told us he was campaigning for the full time gig rather than just being the interim... The guy was backed by TONS of LSU fans who were perfectly happy to shite on plenty of viable alternative options.

Those folks hold a ton of blame for this shite show we have on our hands today.

You mean Miles going 7-8 in the SEC in his last 2 years and 1 game?

Archer went 4-10 in the SEC his last two years.
and 1-3 against Power 5 (wasn’t called power 5 back then) teams OOC.
back to back losing seasons.
no bowls.

As visible as Head Coaches are, oftentimes the face of a University-right or wrong aside- would one really want Ed Orgeron to be that person? Shallow, maybe, but I darn sure wouldn't. This guy makes Les Miles look like the author of King's English

Hallam and archer are worse by far. Possibly miles and dinardo also. The program improved under O so far. 6-2 for first time since 2012 in sec.

He was Ole Miss’ worst hire...of course he is LSUs worst hire.

It could literally take 10 years for LSU to compete for the SEC again.

I don't have any reason to believe fleck or fedora would have been better hires

Fleck was 4-6 last year as was Fisher who.many on here seem to idolize. Fedora had a bad year also as did Herman. Out of all those seems O did the best last season

Hallman had wins over big programs. Dinardo was a close (worst hire candidate) based on his record.

Dinardo>Hallman>Zero.

Hallman was a better recruiter

Let’s recap this thread.

We are actually saying we have a coach worse than Hallman

He's an 8-4 coach with top 5 talent.

He's going to be a 7-5 or 6-6 coach with top 20 talent
