apparently 2 more transfers committed today, we’re just waiting on announcements

All very true, I think folks are misunderstanding what I am saying, the bench outside Redouty, Bergeron and Coffey is mid major level at the very best. Who do folks on this board think is good on the bench? If folks come at me a bunch of slappers then I want you to show me a elite team with more than 1 in their lineup…
Don’t get me wrong. This team would be much better with a few key portal pickups. I just think the potential is there to go far with superior pitching regardless of the offense. Conference play this year was a major disappointment because most of the veteran bats went cold. They could easily do better next year even with no portal players if Heavener is as good as advertised and ready to go.

Don’t score can’t win. Most teams playing long ball now. Very few low scoring games .

4 WCWS teams were Top 10 in scoring and 4 were Top 10 in ERA. 6 were Top 15 in ERA and 6 were Top 25 in scoring. 4 of the 8 were Top 25 in both. Stanford and Alabama were Top 10 in ERA and outside the Top 50 in scoring. UCLA was Top 25 in scoring and Top 50 in ERA. Florida was Top 10 in scoring and outside the Top 50 in ERA. Of course it’s better to be good on both sides of the ball, but I see no evidence that offense is more important than pitching.

With Glasco leaving Louisiana to take the Texas Tech job, I wonder if there are any Rajun Cajuns Beth would be interested in and vice versa

Pretty opportune for Beth to replace a lot of starters in the portal with Washington’s roster leaving and ULL about to be raided right down the road

She was the number 6 prospect out of high school, class of 22. Looks like she has some speed. Was primarily used as a pinch runner.

Reposted frim my comment in the Rant...
Avery went to Fort Bend Christian Academy in Sugar Land, Texas... about 2 miles from my house. I coached against her several times and am very pleased she's now at LSU.

Avery Hodge, who recently entered the transfer portal after two years playing for Patty Gasso at Oklahoma, is headed to LSU.
The infielder announced her decision on her Instagram account on Thursday.
Hodge hit 4-for-12 during the 2024 Women’s College World Series after an injury to Alynah Torres thrust her into a full time starting role.
For the season, Hodge hit .284 with nine RBIs, five doubles, 11 walks and nine strikeouts in 74 total at-bats.
When Torres was healthy, Hodge was primarily called upon for her defense at second base.

Very good defensively, pedestrian hitter but with a tragically weak bench had to have a SS. IMO they still need several more hitters

ULL has introduced Alyson Habetz as head coach.
